I picked up some Herbion tablets that list "red echinacea juice" on the label. Does anyone have any recommendations? My immune system definitely feels like it's been through the wringer lately after everything that's happened.

I was taking Pfizer - http://www.reddit.com

Ever since I started on it, I've been dealing with this itchy skin and eye irritation, plus my heart races every now and then. It felt like poison, especially since I actually needed to be on it.. 😢

I haven't touched the stuff in over a month, but that itching sensation just won't quit.

They didn't find any bacteria at all. Plus, this popped up in two different spots at once—a larger one on my leg and a smaller one on my upper arm. I really don't think I managed to scratch both areas and infect myself at the exact same time. 🙂

As for herpes, I doubt it. I know what that looks like; my niece had it, and if I remember correctly, it’s pretty painful. Mine doesn't hurt at all.

Regarding the allergy theory, I've never dealt with allergies in my life, but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of the mix now. Either way, once I'm admitted to the hospital, I'll be asking for a full battery of tests.

Back in October of last year, I went through a whole round of vaccinations at the local public health clinic—about ten different shots—since I was heading off to Africa for five weeks starting in November. Midway through my trip, I noticed what looked like an insect bite, which eventually started spreading into a small ulcer that would slightly open up. Once I got back to the States, they sent me to an infectious disease specialist who immediately panicked, suspecting cutaneous anthrax. Without any actual lab confirmation, they jumped straight into treating me with penicillin and some other pills. Around that time, my skin and eyes started feeling pretty itchy, though I just assumed it was a side effect from the medication.

When it became clear the treatment wasn't working, they referred me to dermatology. At first, they were looking into Leishmaniasis or Pyoderma. They performed a biopsy, but the results came back negative for any Leishmaniasis markers. Prof. Smith concluded there was a 99.9% chance it was just Pyoderma. He prescribed the treatment I mentioned earlier and recommended I be hospitalized.

Honestly, I'm a bit lost. Every time I read about Pyoderma, people talk about intense pain, but I don't feel any pain at all. Does anyone know of a good private clinic or a specialized hospital I could visit? Money isn't really an issue for me right now.

Thanks. I’ve been digging through some English articles online, but there isn't much out there.

It's a similar story for me—my doctor prescribed a regimen of 60-80 mg of prednisone daily, so fingers crossed this does the trick.

Prof. Smith was actually the one who gave me the diagnosis, so I'm really hoping they got it right this time. This is my third attempt at getting a correct diagnosis for this exact issue; the first two were total misses. 😠

I'm just praying it isn't linked to any of those other illnesses mentioned. Honestly, I'd say there's maybe a 40-50% chance it's something else entirely.

I'd likely feel some symptoms if it were, but other than what's already listed, I feel pretty good.

After doing a ton of research, I finally got a diagnosis for this condition.

Does anyone here know anything about it? There’s hardly any info online because apparently it's pretty rare, and they aren't even sure what the actual cause is. I have to be admitted to Salisbury Hospital in a week. 😕

I’m honestly a little worried there might be something more serious going on underneath. My immune system feels totally trashed—I actually caught the flu for the first time in ten years, and I haven't been able to shake this constant cough since. A few weeks before all this started, I had a couple of vaccinations for an overseas trip, so I'm wondering if that might have played a role.

I've also noticed some mild itching on my skin, and sometimes my eyes get itchy too. To top it off, I’ve dropped 10 pounds over the last three months without trying at all; I could never pull that off even with regular gym sessions since my weight usually stays pretty steady.

The whole situation just feels off to me.
