Yeah, basically they played some kind of medley—Red mixed with that theme from In the Court, I think. Honestly, it’s no shock the current crew isn't playing 70s stuff (aside from various Larks extensions); it was a totally different band back then.
Personally, I'm all about that Discipline-era, perfect pair-beat 80s vibe. There's just this irresistible pop groove baked into it.
Man, if they ever made it out to 🙏, who knows? Maybe Levin comes back to the fold, or maybe some old connections and industry ties finally click.

Honestly, I think Fripp just showed up to mess with everyone, which fits his whole low-key cynical vibe perfectly. Those Soundscape sets felt like they were designed just to get under people's skin—he probably got some weirdly twisted kick out of it.
I don't see any other way to look at it. He’s playing in a completely different league than those two; calling him a "guitar hero" doesn't even scratch the surface. 🙂
It’s a bummer they didn't tear into a heavier KC track, though. "Red" was fine, but man, if they had played something like "Larks' tongues..." that would have been legendary.

And that review by Pista Penava? It reads like it was written by some random 15-year-old kid who hasn't lived yet. 🙄

Seriously, he even gave this big, happy grin 😁 when the crowd started lighting up their phones during "always with you..." Man, that audience was incredible. Everyone was singing along to the melodies on certain tracks—there was just this pure, magic chemistry in the room for a second there. 🙂

It’s true that everyone in that whole "guitar hero" circle knows how to shred like crazy with a chainsaw, and yeah, Steve is definitely one of them. But he’s also one of those rare guys who actually knows how to stick a damn melody in there. It's like Neal Schon—someone we're all listening to every single day (like a constant program announcement on CBS), that legendary dude from the old-school 80s pop-metal band Journey. 🙂

I’m honestly just wondering who’s going to show up for Fripp’s set. I’m really crossing my fingers that we get some of the King Crimson crew there.
BTW, I caught wind that Tony Levin is back with the current King Crimson lineup and they’re actually working on a new album. Since Levin has toured through the States a few times now, I was thinking—maybe if we coordinate with the promoters, we might actually see King Crimson hit a major US city like New York or Chicago soon!

It’s official, folks! It’s finally happening. 🙂
