Downgrading Windows Vista to Windows XP?

Go ahead and grab the nLite program from www.nliteos.com to build yourself a custom installation disc that includes all those necessary SATA controller drivers. Honestly, the whole process is a breeze. You just fire up nLite, pop in your Windows XP installation CD, add the specific drivers you need, and burn it. Once you boot from that new CD, Windows will actually recognize both the disc and your partitions right away. I actually had to do this myself once! I swapped out an old 1.5 GB SATA drive on my motherboard for a newer 3 GB SATA drive, and Windows just wouldn't see the hard disk at all. I made a custom CD using nLite, and boom—problem solved! Give it a shot. There's even a version available for Windows Vista on that same site!!
