Saving your eyes during long reading sessions

I spend way too much time scrolling through ebooks on my phone and my eyes are absolutely killing me by the end of the night. I need some better ways to adjust my settings so I'm not squinting at a bright screen in the dark. Does anyone have any specific app settings or blue light filters they swear by?
