Hymenotomy procedure

I’m running into something pretty similar. My boyfriend and I have tried a few times now, but there was bleeding, and honestly, it was just incredibly painful. He couldn't really get past the first inch or two.
We actually noticed that my hymen seems to have two separate openings—it looks almost like there's a little bridge of tissue right in the middle. I’m wondering if that might be why things aren't progressing, or if it's even possible to work through that without seeing an OBGYN. Is this something that usually requires a minor surgical fix, or am I overthinking it?
