So, I sat through the whole video.
And I just can't help but notice one thing:
YOUR FAN SUPPORT IS A TOTAL CATASTROPHE!
I honestly thought maybe my hearing was failing me because I couldn't hear anything, or maybe it was some other issue...
But watching this clip, you can actually see how incredibly forced everything is by this guy who is trying every possible way to hype up the crowd. He’s so persistent with his unarticulated screaming into the mic that, honestly, he's basically the only thing you hear in the entire eight-minute video.
If we dissect the clip a little bit, you'll see that during the first few minutes, the Navy is actually cheering. Hands are up in the air... there's that roar from the stands that gives any real fan chills... I mean, that's the kind of noise that's brought me out to San Francisco for nearly 20 years... That's what I've experienced plenty of times before. You can really feel it for about three minutes. Flags are waving, strobes are flashing... hands are up... and the singing echoes off the surroundings, making an incredible amount of noise.
Then, at the three-minute mark, the whole thing just falls apart.
They hold up signs saying "our supporters are the best" and then the yelling into the microphone starts—something like "let everyone know"—which, in my estimation, maybe a thousand people are actually following. If you listen closely at the four-minute mark, the Navy can't even hear him... all you hear is this guy literally begging for people to cheer... "let's go," "stronger," "come on"...
I think the guy probably lost 20 pounds just from the stress of this concert...
Then at minute five, the flares start going off. All the flags are up again, and yet, once more, you only hear the microphone going "ooooooooooooooo... I love you San Franciscoooooooo" and absolutely NOTHING else!
There's some background murmur, sure, but nothing coming from the crowd that can compete with the guy animating them.
It's almost like he didn't stop blaring "come onnnnnnn" into the mic. He did that at least ten times. But whatever.
