And WHICH movie? Is IMDb paying you to farm clicks now, or is this just a total lack of basic manners? I bet you'd be jumping for joy if a massive surge of electricity hit everyone on this forum the second they clicked that completely useless link of yours.
bluecyclist64, I hate to break it to you, but the orca is basically the biggest member of the dolphin family. You can check it on Wikipedia if you want. Also, if you're actually interested in them, go watch that amazing documentary Blackfish from 2013. That's the movie that made me love them. You really can't trust IMDb. They call some movies absolute trash while hyping others up to heaven. Their ratings are all over the place.
Patrick Martin said:I mean, everything you just listed sounds like those "soulless" movies to me, if I'm being honest
like, for example, this one movie actually feels like it has a soul, kind of like how they treated the orca, it’s got that actual human connection☕
I totally agree. Movies like Orca and Link actually give them that spark because they show them having an intelligence that's sometimes right on par with ours—maybe even higher, honestly. It's super rare for a movie to actually show how smart animals really are instead of just treating them like props or something meant only to serve humans. To me, thinking otherwise is just totally disrespecting other kinds of intelligence out there.
So, yeah, Orca from 1977. Honestly, even though it’s been ages since I watched it, I actually really liked it. It’s hard to pin down a specific rating for it, but man, it’s definitely worth a watch just to see how they portray the high intelligence of those supposedly "gentle" killer whales. I mean, when they get pissed off, they'll go after Great Whites without blinking. As kind as they seem, they can be incredibly vengeful too. Sorry, Patrick, I had to jump back in and add that.
Why call it trash? I mean, look, if you aren't out here nitpicking every single frame or expecting some deep, life-changing masterpiece, the movie is actually decent enough. It’s fine for a one-time watch, honestly. I actually went into this specifically because the reviews were so brutal, so I had zero expectations and, well, I didn't really gain or lose anything by watching it. There's really no point in overanalyzing it or getting all philosophical about it, because there just isn't much to analyze. If you’ve got a list of actual good, interesting movies waiting for you, then yeah, maybe just skip this one. ☕
I mean, honestly, I think Takeshi Kitano is just incredible. Like, whenever I decide to dive into one of his movies, I already know I'm going to have a blast.
It’s got to be >. Seriously, the first time I sat through that, I was just totally speechless. It was such an absolute blast to watch... though I gotta say, > just didn't do anything for me. To me, it felt kind of dragged out, maybe even a little boring at times? Like, you catch a glimpse of those baby eyes for a second and then—boom—that's it. You're just sitting there constantly waiting for something big to actually happen, but then nothing. The atmosphere and the soundtrack aren't exactly heavy hitters either, but I feel like they could have been way more intense.
Honestly, I actually dug this movie quite a bit. I figured I’d just ignore some of the nitpicks and just enjoy the ride, you know? It’s such a damn shame we don't get more submarine warfare flicks anymore, especially the ones set during WWII. I mean, there is so much potential for killer movies in that era, but hey, it is what it is. For a one-time watch, it was totally fine if you aren't one of those people constantly looking for flaws where they don't exist.
Finally, something actually feels fresh. I really dug watching this, even if I gotta admit it’s pretty damn dark. Honestly, I have this feeling they might try to spin a sequel out of it because there's clearly enough meat on the bones to work with. If they do go that route, though, man, it would be such a shame if they turned it into some watered-down, mushy mess. The core idea is solid, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
I guess for me, the heavy hitters are those movies that just leave this bitter, nasty taste in your mouth for days after you finish them. Man, I’ve scrolled through everything from absolute bottom-of-the-barrel trash—stuff that doesn't even deserve a zero—to total masterpieces that I'd honestly give way more than a ten out of ten if I could. I actually just sat through two films that people have rated super low, but honestly? It’s not because the movies themselves suck, it's just because they're based on true stories. And once you're done watching, you're just left sitting there with no clue what to even say about what you just saw, or why you even felt the need to watch it in the first place. Anyway, here are the links if anyone's feeling brave enough. There are a few others like this, but I couldn't bring myself to sit through any more.
Man, I am seriously counting down the days until this drops so I can finally sit down and watch it. Honestly, I’ve got a feeling I’m gonna love it just as much as I did the first one, if not more. It's basically the kind of thing you just stay hyped for, you know?
Larry Harris8 said:Just finished watching it—honestly, the editing felt pretty jarring compared to Crank, where the pacing actually made sense... The concept itself is interesting, but the execution was a bit clumsy. It took me all three parts just to get through it...🙂 Alison Lohman has a great figure🙂
Look, it's pretty obvious the movie isn't exactly a masterpiece or anything. But honestly, if you weren't spending the entire runtime staring at Alison Lohman's ass, maybe you actually would've enjoyed the plot. Just try watching the damn movie instead of just looking for boobs, man. 🤣
Hey Lisa Ross14, since you're so obsessed with Wing Chun, I guess I've got one more little treat for you. It’s this movie from back in '94 that actually dives into how W. T. all started, and it stars Michelle Yeoh—it's called Wing Chun.
Man, what an absolute joke of an NGO. You're seriously better off just sitting down and watching Ip Man, you know, that movie about the legendary Wing Chun master. It’s actually based on true stories too, so it's way more legit than all this nonsense.
vividtrucker10 said:So, I finally sat down and watched this flick because you guys were driving me crazy with all your nitpicking and comments. Honestly, I was expecting it to be a total disaster, way worse than what it actually turned out to be. But man, I gotta hand it to whoever came up with that whole Christian plotline 🤣🤣🤣
You won't find such a fool anywhere else in the world 🙏🙏🙏
Merging the Maya calendar with the Golden Ratio is just a stroke of genius. Whoever cooked that up probably deserves 🙂 and honestly, even 🙂
rowdyotter25 said:But you actually watched the whole thing, right? 😁 I mean, I realized within the first 15 minutes that this was straight-up garbage, but I just couldn't look away—it was like I had to see if it could actually get any worse, and honestly, it kind of does. Every single minute feels more pathetic than the last, and the ending is just out of this world bad. 😁
Oh, I definitely finished it, but mostly just because I was waiting for some kind of payoff that never actually showed up. 🙂
Total tragedy. Honestly, you’re better off just skipping this one entirely. I accidentally downloaded it thinking it was something else and sat through it, and man... what a waste of a blank disc. 🤮 🤮 🤮
Can anyone give me the lowdown on the Budokai master, Dr. Emin Topic??? Like, is the guy even still kicking, and does he actually still run training sessions??? And what’s the deal with Budokai itself these days? I’m just asking because I’m curious, I guess, since I don't really see anyone around here posting about practicing that specific skill anymore.
