Commuting to work by bike

Does anyone know anything about the crew running this? This is exactly what I'm talking about.?
When User123 dropped that link in the "to bike" thread early last week, I started thinking... 😎 I signed up. They actually reached out via email earlier this week with some details and asked us to spread the word to anyone else who might be interested, so I went ahead and told three of my buddies about it.
It’s kind of funny how those two reacted. They were basically like, "Yeah, sounds like a solid plan, just make sure you don't leave your deposit behind only to end up with a scrap of cardboard worth nothing."
I don't know if I'm being naive here—and I’m definitely not exactly a kid anymore—but it would be really helpful if anyone who knows anything about the people organizing this could speak up.
