Breast lumps and pain: What should I know?
in Women's Health ·
hmm,,I don't even know what to think right now. A few days ago, I started feeling this pain under my breast, and then I felt what felt like a little lump. My mind immediately went straight to the worst-case scenario—cancer. But then I started reading about fibrocystic changes. I'm only 25, there’s no history of breast cancer in my family, and my breasts have always been normal size. Usually, the only pain I get is right before my period, and this happened right before my cycle too. At first, I figured it was just hormonal stuff, but my period ended and while the pain has died down, it hasn't totally gone away. It feels like a sharp, stabbing sensation that comes and goes, and that lump is still there. I'm honestly terrified that it's cancer; I feel like my life was finally starting, and now I'm spiraling. I'm so scared of getting bad news that I can't even bring myself to make a doctor's appointment. Please,,what should I do?
