I honestly feel like I just threw my life away watching this. It’s high time Lars von Trier gets back on some heavy substances because he clearly can't function like this anymore.
I didn't go in expecting much—just looking for some mindless entertainment to zone out to—and honestly, that’s exactly what I got. There were a few scenes that actually gave me a good laugh.
I definitely want something with a bit more screen real estate. What’s actually worth buying on the market right now? Is LG still the way to go, or should I be looking at Samsung or someone else entirely?
$567I’d prefer to keep it budget-friendly, though if there’s something truly standout, I could stretch it up to $2k.
I'm rocking a Radeon 7770 HD right now, and the case is just some cheap, generic no-name unit paired with a basic power supply. Either way, my plan was always to swap out both the case and the PSU at the same time anyway.
Honestly, I’m looking to swap out this ancient case and give the whole setup a bit of a refresh since it’s been sitting there for about five years now. I wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer by any stretch, but I definitely enjoy messing around with stuff on my PC from time to time.
To be fair, I’ve always had some reservations about buying used processors, but if you guys are telling me it’s a safe bet, then I’ll probably just pull the trigger on that route.👍
Honestly, I’m not feeling too great about the idea of picking up a used processor. If I decided to go all-in on a new motherboard and CPU combo and bumped my budget up to around $1,200, what would be my best move?
Also, I’d definitely grab a brand-new case; the one I'm using right now feels older than the Grand Canyon. 😁
So, basically, I need a motherboard, a CPU, a GPU, and a case.
Hey everyone, I’m looking at doing a bit of an upgrade on my old rig. My current motherboard is running an i3, so I want to swap that out for a better processor, grab a new graphics card, and then just migrate everything from my current case into a fresh one.
As for the rest of the setup, I've got a 250 GB SSD, two hard drives (one 1 TB and one 2 TB), and 8 GB of RAM. That’s pretty much it. I’m trying to keep the budget somewhere around $250 to $1000.
I honestly loved this movie; it’s exactly my kind of flick. The creature design was absolutely spot on—honestly, I almost felt bad for it at one point 🙂
It's such a shame we don't see many movies made like this anymore 😉
Gregory Nguyen2 said:Meshuggah is a solid band, sure, but they aren't really what I'm hunting for. My main focus is actually on drummers from traditional African tribes who each play their own distinct rhythm, creating this massive, complex polyrhythmic gestalt. It’s that specific rhythmic complexity—combined with the raw emotional weight where those patterns trigger altered states of consciousness, or trance, that really gets me.
I think Meshuggah relies heavily on triplets. Sure, they set them up in a 4/4 against 3/4 polyrhythmic relationship, but if you swap those triplets out for straight notes, you're just left with a basic 4/4 vs 3/4 pattern. Unlike those African drummers who throw much more intricate ratios at you—like 4/4 against 3/4 against 5/7 and so on—it's that deeper layer of complexity, paired with finding that perfect percussion tone, that actually drives the trance state.
Look, it's fine. I was just listening to the track and noticed everyone jumping on the bandwagon regarding the polyrhythms, so I figured I'd weigh in and maybe add something useful to the conversation. 🙂
I actually thought that movie was pretty decent—it offered a bit of a different take on things. That said, I’ve had my fill of those overly romanticized vampire tropes lately, which is why I’m diving headfirst into Strain 🙂
