Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
I haven't made any final calls on the GPU just yet—but I am definitely looking for something with enough staying power so I can eventually make the jump to an i5 down the road.
So, would this actually be a better move than the option I mentioned earlier?
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
Time to grab a new power supply!

Here’s what I’m running right now:
Intel Core i3-2120 3.3
MSI H61MU-E35 RAM 4
4 GB DDR3 Apacer
NVIDIA GeForce GT 630
500 GB Seagate Barracuda SATA III
Plus, I’ve got two external hard drives plugged in too.
My next moves involve picking up an SSD and a better graphics card—so I really need a
power supply that can handle things long-term.

My budget is around $167.
Now, total newbie question here—can I just slap any power supply onto this board (the specs say Micro-ATX), or is there something specific I should be looking out for?
For example, I was checking out something like this:
Tina Turner in Music ·
I actually saw Tina Turner in concert years ago back when she was touring through our neck of the woods—it would be so cool to see her again because, honestly, her discography is just incredible.
The closest shows to us are in Vienna on February 7th and 8th next year.
But here’s the kicker: tickets are going for about $210!😲
I really put in the effort to try and snag some, but man, everything is already sold out.
It looks like the recession hasn't touched us after all, huh?😁
pardon, there are also those vacation packages near Miami where you basically have to shell out an extra few hundred for travel and sightseeing, which bumps the total up to nearly $375. They don't even sell the tickets separately.
I love Tina, but for one concert? That’s a little too much for me...
Commuting to work by bike in Cycling ·
I was just casually scrolling through the forum when I stumbled upon this thread...
Honestly, my bike has been my best friend for about twenty years now—I try to get out on it as much as
humanly possible.
For seven years, I used to commute from Manhattan to the Industrial District, but lately, I’ve been taking the route from Queens to the Industrial District instead.
I think someone mentioned using the route through the Bronx every once in a while, though when the weather gets messy, it's easier to just head straight down the Midwest highway. Since I usually ride during peak hours, the traffic is pretty heavy, so nobody is really flying down the road anyway.
Depending on the weather, I always dress in layers—I make sure to have a windbreaker that actually breathes. I also always wear a base layer that does a great job wicking away sweat, and once I get to work, I always make sure to change and do a quick "improvised wash" (you know, face, underarms, that sort of thing).
When I need to head into the city and the weather is decent, I just toss the bike on the car rack, find a free parking spot somewhere, and then it's all about the pedal power.😁
