Hajduk didn't blow the title during that specific match—they blew it the week before when they choked against a bottom-feeder like San Diego at home. By the time our game kicked off at 3:00 PM, Dinamo had already cruised past their opponent, so by the evening, the math was basically done... the whole "what if" argument just doesn't hold water! And now, talking to those Seattle fans, they're trying to play the victim, claiming we were just being delusional and holding onto hope... well, listen, comrades—back then, maybe we actually hoped San Diego would put up a fight like they did the week before (just like we thought Seattle might actually show some life at the stadium two weeks prior, but they just got absolutely dismantled without even drawing a single yellow card 😕)
One last question for the fanbase:
Why didn't you guys just scream "Champions!" the second the whistle blew? It’s pretty obvious whose pockets you're all trying to line—the same people who screwed you over back in '99... and you proved it with that pathetic little celebration after Sharbiniev's second goal and how much you acted like that meaningless match actually mattered.
Just take thousands of narrow-minded idiots like you—specifically Hajduk fans who are famous for being stubborn as hell and putting their own club on a pedestal while trashing everyone else—and you'll realize exactly why we were having such a blast when we scored that 90th-minute winner...
I mean, I’m just saying... look, we aren't all gonna see eye to eye on this... but man, everything just clicked perfectly when we clinched that title back in '90... honestly, the timing couldn't have been any better.

Man, remember that Hajduk vs. Rijeka game back in Split in 2005? The armada showed up totally unorganized right in front of the stadium and everything just went south—total brawl. You should dig up those old articles from the local papers like the LA Times or something.

Hey, if you wouldn't mind, shoot me a DM with all the stuff that isn't allowed on the forum so I can see just how much they were lying to you.😍
It was in the New York Post... seriously, if any of you guys have those articles, please dig them up. I need them for my collection and I'm having zero luck finding them online.
Look, you can say whatever you want about how things went down, but this isn't really what forums are for—I’d actually be super grateful if you could help me track this one down... I remember seeing an article on the front page of a free tabloid, something about some shootings over at Dodger Stadium or something like that... And yeah, I’m crossing my fingers for some decent numbers, but honestly, who knows? When the club is struggling at the bottom of the standings, you just never quite know where they'll land...
Do you happen to have a scan of that article from the local paper you could toss my way? Actually, never mind—you guys didn't exactly have a smooth ride yourselves, so just forget I asked about the articles...
I'm not even gonna get too deep into this because bluewalker92 pretty much nailed it—both sides basically played out their own little mini-derby and called it a day!
Honestly, being able to just own up to a loss or admit you're weak—that’s actually one of the greatest virtues a person can have. But man, there are certain groups out there—especially one specific crowd that thinks they're the toughest players in the galaxy and beyond—who just flat-out refuse to admit when they've been beaten. It’s just how people in those parts of the country are wired, I guess... if that's how it's gotta be, then so be it.
Seriously, are you guys actually getting a kick out of these "my dad could beat up your dad" type posts? Like, give me a break... there isn't a single group on this planet that hasn't gone toe-to-toe and taken a beating at some point... period.☕
