How do you even call this a build? Cables are flying everywhere, the fan is sticking out of the case, the DVD drive is hanging out, and that neon light is practically blinding you while you're trying to use the computer!
Try routing that ATX12V—or whatever cable is to the left of the cooler—under the motherboard all the way to the top right corner so it exits out the top. Grab a longer IDE cable and run it from the motherboard right behind the drive cage, then up to the optical drive, tucked behind the 3.5" and 5.25" bays. And shove that SATA cable somewhere so it isn't sticking out right above the front fan. Everything else is just nitpicking for total perfectionists.
Like I said in my last post, I'm buying the round one because I don't have any more of these square ones left to squeeze in!😁

In my experience, they aren't working any better at all!😢 Next time I hit up Best Buy or Micro Center (or wherever), I'm definitely grabbing the round ones.

And before you start complaining about the cable clutter, let's get one thing straight: it's not about how many cables there are, it's that you just don't know how to hide them. ☕ I can't even begin to process this mess. Just look at that disaster. You can get a pretty good idea of how to pack everything away by looking at Thomas Gray's photos. I’d also suggest flipping the drives upside down so the connectors face the front. Tuck the SSDs into the corner, coil them up neatly, and run those thin cables behind the motherboard.
Thomas Gray, those cables are top-tier! 🙏
Kudos to whoever pulled this off!👍👍 Thanks, I'll try twisting those cables around a bit and see what happens!
And another thing—I noticed both of your motherboards are missing that extra dedicated GPU power connector. Where the hell am I supposed to cram that plug in??
Guys, what do you think of this? I know it’s nothing special, but at least I finally have a case that actually glows (the photo quality sucks since I just used my phone):

The only thing driving me absolutely insane about this build is these massive cables!! Does anyone have any actual suggestions on how to hide them or where to tuck them away!??
I also need to pick up a new ATA cable for the DVD-romove because this one is way too bulky!!
Does my motherboard and RAM actually matter when I'm trying to overclock the CPU?? Because I'm running an ASUS motherboard with Ballistix RAM, and I can't get much of an OC out of this processor—maybe 0.3 GHz before the whole system just crashes!!
Edward Peterson70 said:I'm taming my wires with... Those damn plastic zip ties.
Using zip ties is fine, I guess, but if you’re running a clear case, it looks like absolute garbage unless you actually take the time to tuck all those cables out of sight!
I somehow managed to overclock my CPU to 2.8, but I'm hitting a wall and can't go any higher. I haven't touched anything except bumping the voltage up to 2.10V, nothing else!! So, if anyone actually knows why I can't push this processor any further, let me know!
Edward Peterson70 said:What voltage are you running on the memory? Did you lock the PCI at 100 MHz? Just set everything to manual if I were you.
My PCI is sitting right at the standard 100 MHz! And I’ve got the memory clocked at 800 MHz at 2.00V! I've heard this K9N Ultra board is absolute garbage!
I've got a bit of a headache here: 🤣🤣 I can't get my CPU overclocked right. Like, sometimes I manage to bump it up to 2.7 GHz (even with the voltage cranked up—it's sitting at 1.350V right now), but that's super hit or miss and even then it acts buggy!! I have no clue if the motherboard is failing me or if it's just the processor?? (I'm leaning towards it not being the CPU since it runs perfectly fine on stock settings, actually better than when I try to OC it!!)😕
Here's what I'm running: CPU: AMD Athlon 2x 4800+ 2.5 GHz 1mb cache + Thermaltake Blue Orb FX MBO: MSI K9N Ultra nForce 560 GPU: XFX GeForce 7600GT RAM: Crucial Ballistix 2x512mb 800MHz & 2x1GB 800MHz PSU: Western Digital 500 w HDD HDD: Seagate 250 GB
Any advice or thoughts would be huge!! And please, for the love of god, don't just trash my entire build!! THANKS👍
