Thanks Thomas Fisher! I didn't even realize until way later that I had to scrub version 7.0 off my system first since it was left over from an old PC. Once I finally nuked that one, Adobe Reader 9.1 installed just fine (though getting it from those sketchy Adobe direct pages is always a bit of a headache).
I am having a massive headache here. I’ve been running Adobe Reader 7.0 on my Windows Vista machine, and honestly, it works just fine for reading files, but the second I try to open anything online, the whole thing just freezes up on me. So, I figured I'd just upgrade and downloaded Adobe Reader 9.1, but now the installation is being a total nightmare. It keeps throwing errors at me during the setup—something about Internet Explorer (process ID: 1276)—and then it claims File Explorer (process ID: 1900) is blocking it because some program is supposedly using it. To make matters worse, I'm running on a prepaid mobile hotspot right now, which isn't helping things move along. How on earth am I supposed to get this damn 9.1 version to actually install??? HELP!!!!!
