Help! My games won't launch!!! :)

Since we're already talking about The Sims 2, could someone please explain why I can't actually get it to work?
I went through the whole process of installing the game along with all the necessary components, but I can't even get past the launch screen. It just keeps throwing some sort of error at me. I had no issues running the first game, but for some reason, the sequel is being completely difficult. If anyone happens to know what's going on, I'd really appreciate the help. 😕🤷
