Gymnastics

Four or five years? Please... just because someone signs up for gymnastics doesn't mean they're trying to hit the elite level or win gold medals...
I'm a junior in high school and I only started training seriously two months ago. I did some stuff back in middle school for maybe three or four years, but that was just basic PE class stuff... this is the real deal now. I signed up because I'm planning on majoring in kinesiology in college, so I'm using this to get ready. Gymnastics is hands down the best conditioning there is. I'm just doing it for the grind and to prep for my degree. As for people who actually want to compete—if they have the build for it—they can jump into advanced programs and start competing pretty fast... honestly, it's never too late. My old gym teacher told me the same thing. He's retired now, 72 years old, but he still crushes veteran gymnastics tournaments all over the US and even internationally... man, you wouldn't believe what he can do at 72 🙂
