Kevin Martin50 said:So, I finally decided to grab some protein and supplements (since my diet is a total wreck, I'm gonna try to fix it), and now I'm ASKING all the experts, casuals, and pros out there to help me out.
The only thing is, my liver is kind of trashed, so my doctor told me to stick to proteins with the least amount of "junk" and the highest protein content—basically, whatever puts the least strain on my liver. So, which ones?
Also, what even is glucose? Do you buy that separately? And what else do I need? Creatine? When should I take all this stuff—before training, after, or just mix it into my meals?
And btw, I don't mind spending more for high-quality stuff since I can't mess around with my liver. I was thinking about using TwinLab, so what do you guys think?

Get Dymatize elita Whey. It’s top-tier and won't wreck your liver. Since you have liver issues, stay away from creatine. It puts too much strain on the liver, which is why people take breaks from it anyway. Definitely skip the creatine.

If you're just starting out with supplements, stick to whey first. Don't even bother with anything else until then. For the best bang for your buck, grab the 2.3kg tub of Dymatize elita Whey $123 (that's not even my opinion, it's just consistently rated right behind optimum Nutrition 100 % Whey protein Gold on most US bodybuilding forums, which is still way too overpriced here). Scitec is just cheap filler. If you're actually trying to bulk up, you need slow-digesting proteins too—something like Labrada ProV60 is top tier—to take in the morning and at night, while you save the whey and glucose combo for right after your workout. Beyond that, I'd recommend creatine (get CEE, not the basic monohydrate). Obviously, none of this matters if your diet isn't dialed in.
