The Show must go on! Yeah!
Ooh! Inside my heart is breaking!
My make-up may be flaking!
But my smile, still, stays on!

Straight up quoting my favorite lyrics.
I'm gonna call you out on that one!🙄 😍

Linda Taylor11 said:I didn't just learn it; I already knew. 😘 Brian May was going through hell when he wrote that song—his father passed away, his marriage was falling apart, and the whole future of his career with Queen was hanging by a thread. He’s even said himself that The Show Must Go On was his way of reacting to all the crap life was throwing at him back then. And somewhere in the middle of all that, there's this tribute to his dear friend and longtime bandmate Freddie Mercury. Pretty heavy, right?

I'm with you. They clashed more than anyone else in the studio, but honestly, those arguments were usually where their best tracks came from.
To me, this band is something truly special—more than just a group or just music. I grew up listening to them, and yet I keep coming back to them constantly. There's just something about them that nobody else has, at least not in my book—they really have zero competition.
When I listen to Queen, I don't know about you guys, but I can practically feel the intelligence dripping out of their songs. From the most subtle notes to the powerhouse lyrics.
It’s no surprise, really; they're probably the only massive band where every single member actually went to college. 👍

Linda Taylor11 said:I don't totally agree with you. Paul Rodgers is an incredible singer too, and him joining the band doesn't automatically mean they'll suck—it just means they're going to sound different. I get that Freddie was a one-of-a-kind musician, partly because of his eccentricity, but writing off the group as a failure just because he's gone is pretty foolish. There are still three world-class musicians left in the lineup. Besides, I've always been more into the tracks written by Brian May, and also Taylor-esque ˝Innuendo˝. Yeah, you read that right: Taylor-esque. Because a lot of people assume the subject matter means only Freddie could have written it.

Did you even know that "The Show Must Go On" was written by May?
To me, that song was May's final gift to Freddie Mercury.

... and they’re still getting massive radio play. They’re still pulling in waves of new, young fans, and those albums? Still selling like crazy. Plus, anytime any former member of Queen steps onto a stage, they basically hijack the entire show.

There isn't much point in talking about it. Everything worth saying about Queen has already been said, and honestly, even while sitting idly by, they just keep proving everyone right day after day.

Someone’s probably gonna crucify me for this, but I can't get Enrique Iglesias out of my head—I can't even remember the exact title, but it's that one about loving to see you cry.

I was seriously head over heels for the woman in that music video.
Ugh... just stumbled upon this online poll... time to stir the pot with all the Maiden fans out there (p.s. I've got a soft spot for Maiden too)

Freddie Mercury vs. Bruce Dickinson
Who takes the crown for best vocals?

The Results

Better vocalist?

Freddie Mercury (69%)

Bruce Dickinson (31%)

Total votes: 230
What a pathetic provocation, and what's even more pathetic is seeing people actually fall for it.
Maiden is alright. I was at their show in New Jersey, and they didn't even play my favorite song... Afraid to Shoot Strangers... and you know what? That's my absolute favorite, yet Bruce sings the least on that track... unbelievable. 😁 😁 🤣 👍
What are you guys listening to lately? in Music ·

Meh, let's be real here.

Aerosmith, Nu-metal era (how do you even spell that?), Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Pink Floyd, Queen, Ramones, Rolling Stones, Shakira, U2, The Cardigans, Enya, Enigma, Limp Bizkit, Korn, The Prodigy, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Sex Pistols, System of a Down, Britney Spears, The Beatles, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and a bunch of others I can't remember right now.

Exactly my thoughts!! Though I'd personally cut these from that list: Aerosmith, Nu-metal era, the Stones, Shakira, U2, Enya, The Cardigans, Limp Bizkit (I'd delete them from every list on the planet), Korn, Sex Pistols, Britney Spears (isn't this supposed to be about music???), and that "Weird Al" guy...
... and yeah. I'd add a massive pile of others too, but I can't be bothered to type them all out right now.😛 😛
