Forget all those modern, overproduced tracks; nothing beats the classics.

Rachel Cooper3 said:Using soccer terms: is Cradle of Filth basically PSG, while Dimmu Borgir is more like Man City? ☕

Then what does that make Arsenal? Poison? A general threat to everyone else?

Walter Grant5 said:Probably the one you weren't looking for.😁

Yeah, I mean seriousness in terms of being twisted. Like, take Burzum—guy killed his bandmate before going solo and torched some churches. Spent a ton of time behind bars. Or the frontman from Dissection, who got busted for a murder involving a satanic cult partner before ending things with a ritual suicide. Then there’s the guy from Deicide (disturbing stuff, 🙏 really), rocking an upside-down cross branded on his forehead. 🤣

Just to be clear, I’m not out here cheering for any of that shit, but calling these guys posers is a stretch. They aren't like Cradle of Filth or Dimmu Borgir.

Clarification number two: I'm definitely not saying every black or death metal fan is a killer or some kind of lunatic like the examples I gave.

And clarification number three: Don't try to psychoanalyze me based on what I listen to. Extreme metal isn't my main thing, but I can't deny the sheer musical skill some of these guys have. At the end of the day, a good horror movie is one that actually scares you, and a good comedy is one that actually makes you laugh.

Plus, there are plenty of killer bands where the musicians aren't total psychos. It's just that raw, primal energy and that dark, ominous vibe in the tracks. And no, I'm not just talking about technicality or crazy blast beats.

That doesn't mean this music escapes the "seriousness" question, since people will always look at them and think, "What are these guys in face paint even doing?"

I know all about those types and those bands; I didn't just wake up yesterday.

But they are still nothing more than ridiculous nonsense.
It’s essentially the "I’m going to go murder my neighbor and eat his brain" school of thought.
Sure, it’s intense, but it leaves you wondering, "What on earth is wrong with these people?"
At its core, it’s just a cocktail of narcissism, exhibitionism, and genuine mental instability.
If I were to be fascinated by that sort of thing, I might as well admire Jack the Ripper or someone similar; they would be even less likely to be considered posers.

Walter Grant5 said:What ruggedjackal46 posted isn't even close to being "hardcore." Dimmu Borgir is basically the Scandinavian version of Cradle of Filth. Just a bunch of posers playing dress-up.

Out of all the heavy hitters, I only respect Immortal. They aren't wearing face paint to look pretty, and they don't overdo the brutal stuff just for the sake of it. It’s more like they're leaning into the vibe without trying too hard.

Hold on...
Are you using the word "serious" in both those contexts?

When you see those Scandinavian black metal types actually start moving, you know things have officially hit a new level of intensity.

I have to say, I’m pretty much in total agreement with the referee’s call here.
Neither Kroos nor Ramos were handed a yellow card for that blatant simulation.

It seems to me that someone else was singled out for criticism just before Paul Sanders5.
Toni Kroos? Is he really the one we should be debating?

He tends to toss around arguments like he’s some sort of hybrid of Plato and Cicero. Is he actually making points, or just performing?

ruggedjackal46 said:So, let me get this straight. Walter Grant5 hangs out with restlesssurfer97 for one last dinner before the big rivalry game, gives him a friendly kiss on the cheek, and then turns him over to the forum mods later that same night? Unbelievable. Honestly, I just hope Andrew Hayes2 at least wired Walter Grant5 a silver medal for his services ☕

The whole story is nothing but fake news.
In reality, Judas took the blueprints from the Romans specifically to hand them over to JC to dismantle the system from within.

Patrick Martin said:Look, I’ll just say it—I can get my point across in two sentences while Walter Grant5 is still busy typing out his massive, never-ending manifestos.

And me.

There are your two words...
Get the joke?
As in, "and me" constitutes two words.
Haha.

On a more serious note, I think Ronaldo is great, but Messi is also incredible. Who actually comes out on top?

Which one of them holds the superior statistical record?

So, I have a question...
I don't follow the Premier League very closely, so if someone more knowledgeable could walk me through it, which club is actually considered the best over there?
Who currently boasts the most talented roster, and if we look at the historical legacy, who stands at the top?
Furthermore, who possesses the superior tactical philosophy and maintains a better track record for developing young talent?

Just asking generally; no need for an exhaustive deep dive.

Why be stricter? Stricter for who? There's really only one active thread on this whole site, Pušimera.
Hardly anyone even bothers posting anymore now that they've "cleaned things up."

Order and discipline—that’s the roadmap to success.

ZTC Trading 🙏

And on the flip side? You've got Ajuto, Narko, Ono, Overture, and Sid. They haven't settled on an acronym just yet—does anyone have any bright ideas?

ANOOS?

Add one more name starting with 'N' and you've got ANNONOS.

I used to get genuinely irritated when someone from Germany, Canada, or Mostar tried to lecture me about patriotism, considering I was born in Chicago, raised in Chicago, and still call Chicago home.
But I've moved past it.
There’s really no point in fighting it.
They won.
No big deal.

It’s never a bad day for some audiovisual art.

I was watching this quiz show on PBS, the one that airs at 8.
Password.
There was this woman who had to answer questions—you know, the standard multiple choice, A, B, C, D format.
She was so clueless and uneducated that I actually felt a wave of sympathy for her.

I wasn't even tracking whether she got any answers right; she just seemed completely out of touch because she was born in Germany and moved here to live in America.

Ashley Bailey6 said:I'm a big fan of mystery and sci-fi, but I gave up on The Expanse pretty quickly. At first glance, the characters felt flat and the plot seemed totally random.
Maybe I should give it another shot, but I'm just not feeling it. If a show doesn't grab me immediately, I never go back for seconds.

It actually gets good starting with the second season.
The first season is just pure chaos.

Paul Martinez73 said:What’s actually worth bingeing on Netflix that hasn't been hyped to death? I’ve checked out maybe 30 decent shows, but everything seems to be screaming for attention from the thumbnails...
After that, I start wondering if there’s even any point in keeping up the monthly membership.

And please, spare me the usual suggestions like
Sex Education, 13 Reasons Why, or other nonsense like that.

Black Mirror

Joking aside...
I'm not sure if they're all on Netflix, but here are some solid series:
Lucifer
Orville
Mars
🤔🤔🤔
I've watched about ten more good ones over the last few months, but I can't think of a single one off the top of my head.
