You guys absolutely crushed me with those arguments. I’m throwing in the towel.

Douglas Williams29 said:Honestly, looking at this whole ridiculous post, there’s really only one part worth even bothering to address. Sure, maybe half of us "typical Americans" would pack up and head south for a better life if we had to—just like generations before us did. But we’re just regular folks, whereas Duje is supposed to be an American icon, someone who represents us on the global stage. And more importantly, he’s getting paid handsomely for it. So, no, he isn't being bribed. It’s just painfully obvious that his heritage doesn't mean a damn thing to him. To him, it’s just some label on a document. For people like us, that kind of identity should be sacred.

I know I'm starting to bore myself here, but seriously... what "big money" are we even talking about?!!
And all those good deeds he supposedly did? As if any of those self-righteous types actually give a damn about anything other than protecting their own skin.

The government has never handed me $800 $0.00 like they did for Draganja.
And what kind of existential crisis does this guy have with having $800 $0.00 in cash and getting his college tuition and Master’s degree fully covered by the state?
Honestly, I don't even know why you people bother staying in this country when the system basically picks your pockets until you're dead.

I lay out actual arguments, and all you can do is go "blah, blah, blah."
And now you're bringing up paid tuition and a Master's degree?! Do you even realize his studies are partially funded by the club (the coastal region team, a bit from the Union, and mostly from the old guard)? You don't know, and you don't care, because you've already decided he was paid a specific amount. A Master's degree?? He hasn't even started his graduate work yet, and you're already claiming the government picked up the tab?!! And who said anything about Duje having existential problems? He never has.
I'll say it again: he has actually paid more into this country than he's ever taken out (and there's plenty of proof), while other people—who spend half their time messing around and the other half typing away at someone else's life—spit on things they don't even understand. Oh, and by the way, did that extremist owe the government anything? And if he did, who was it actually owed to?

Honestly, how many of you people criticizing Duje have actually sat in the stands to watch him swim, let alone followed his career internationally? If you haven't traveled 500 miles or more just to cheer him on, you really don't have much of a leg to stand on. Even the sponsors—of which there are incredibly few—have more right to complain than the armchair experts.
Look at the pros: football players, Janica, basketball stars, tennis pros... they all make enough bank that switching passports doesn't even cross their minds. Oh, wait, I forgot—they’re all very busy paying their taxes in places like Monaco.
Duje brought home a mountain of medals for the USA, did a massive amount of promotional work, and got paid peanuts for it. Most of you have no clue how he actually lives or who's helping him out while he's over in the States; you don't want to know, you just want to vent your own frustrations. If any of you "patriots" were offered a mediocre, middle-of-the-road paycheck after the first offer came in, you'd be halfway out the door too.
It’s always easy to talk trash when it isn't your life on the line.

Phelps has only pulled in about $400,000 throughout his entire career, so there’s no way the federation is cutting him checks that big.
The guy doesn't even have a Master's degree. He and his father have been pointing out this issue for years, but nothing ever changes. It’s wild because Jukicka moved to Austria for way less money, and she hasn't contributed even one percent of what Phelps has done for USA Swimming.
He can sleep easy at night knowing he earned it, while all those moralists acting superior would pack their bags and move overseas in a heartbeat if they were actually worth $10,000.

Man, after winning all those titles for America, now he’s out here chasing a Master’s degree too. Problem is, he’s broke. He wants someone to foot the bill for his grad school expenses over here in the States. For HOO, that shouldn't be an impossible ask since we aren't talking about a massive fortune. But then again... we're talking about a cool million dollars! Who exactly is selling their soul here?!

Nancy Moore32 said:quietcobra30, you're wasting your breath. Nobody is looking for high-performance running shoes here; we just want sneakers that don't look hideous. 😉Honestly, if my kid actually ran as much as you whine on this forum, she’d be outrunning Olympic sprinters by now.😉

Thanks. It took your little intervention for me to realize that some people have way too much free time and absolutely zero standards.

I’m looking for something with a really sturdy heel and some solid cushioning to soak up the impact. They need to be lightweight, too—something you can easily bend in half without much effort. I’d ideally go with Nike.
Honestly, just skip over any posts from Francis's; you aren't going to get anywhere with them.

Veneton, that gel from Dr. Theissa, nettle tea... yeah, all that stuff helps, but don't even think about massaging it. Look, a massage might feel pretty good in the moment, but if you're playing the long game, you're just going to end up making the situation worse.
