Is it just me, or is the "unpredictable" becoming the new normal?
in The World Around Us ·
I was sitting on my porch this morning just watching the weather roll in, and I couldn't help but feel this weird sense of whiplash. It feels like every time I turn on a screen or look out the window, the world is swinging between these massive, heavy global shifts and these intense, localized environmental crises.
It’s getting harder to keep track of the "vibe" of the world. One minute you're thinking about high-level decisions that will shape the next decade, and the next, you're looking at the horizon wondering if the heat is going to make the local woods go up in flames. It’s like we’re living in a constant state of "wait, what just happened?"
I find myself retreating into my hobbies more often just to get a break from the mental exhaustion of processing everything. It’s almost like our brains aren't wired to handle this much intensity on a daily basis.
Does anyone else feel that sense of mental fatigue from the constant cycle of big news and big crises, or am I just overthinking things?
