The ultimate "out of reach" resource?

I was reading a bit about deep-sea geology the other day, and it got me thinking about how much of our planet is basically a giant, locked vault. It’s wild to think that there are massive concentrations of precious materials just sitting there, unreachable, under thousands of feet of ocean and rock.
It feels a bit like a cosmic joke. We spend all this energy fighting over what’s left on the surface, while the real "jackpot" might be sitting right under the seafloor in these deep volcanic pockets. Part of me thinks it’s better that way—keeps the greed contained. But then I look at how much we struggle with resource scarcity, and I can't help but wonder if we're just being incredibly shortsighted by ignoring what's right beneath us.
If we ever actually develop the tech to tap into those deep-sea zones without destroying the entire ecosystem, do you think it would actually stabilize the economy, or would it just crash the value of everything we currently mine?
