PSU recommendations? in Desktops ·
I finally got my hands on a PC, so here are the specs I'm working with:

QuadCore Intel Core i5-3450, 3300 MHz
MSI B75A-G43 chipset
Motherboard Chipset: Intel Panther Point B75, Intel Ivy Bridge
GTX660TI Graphics Card
8GB RAM

I'm thinking about picking up a 750W power supply. Am I overdoing it? Honestly, I know I don't need this much juice for my current graphics card, but if I'm planning an upgrade anytime soon, wouldn't it be smarter to just get it out of the way now?

I’m away from my main rig at the moment, so I can't double-check the exact model for you. The PC is just under four years old, which means the processor isn't one of those top-of-the-line modern chips.

So, you're saying I don't actually need anything higher than 650W? Right now, I mostly play Battlefield 4, and it runs perfectly on Ultra settings. But honestly, the way my power supply sounds is starting to get to me. I can't help but worry—what if it just suddenly gives up the ghost and fries everything? I went through this exact nightmare with my last PC, so now I'm just sitting here feeling paranoid every time I hear the PSU making a weird noise.

My apologies, I actually meant the 290—that one runs about $150 more. But honestly, that’s just a side note. What I’m really focusing on is the power supply. I’ve got a budget of up to $150 for it, and I was thinking maybe I should go with a 750W unit instead.

I’ve been running an EVGA 550 W for the last four years, but over the past few months, things have started getting increasingly loud. I make sure to stay on top of maintenance and keep everything dusted, but it honestly feels like my power supply isn't performing quite like it used to.

Because of that, I’m looking to step up to something more robust. My current setup consists of an i5 processor, a GTX 660Ti, 8GB of RAM, and a 120GB SSD. I'm even considering upgrading to a GTX 970 soon, so I definitely need a more powerful unit to handle the load.

What would you all recommend?

Thanks!

Eric Fox7 said:Why bother mentioning other American clubs? We are talking about the LA Galaxy here.

Why do you and people like you insist on shoving the Seattle Sounders into the same sentence as the Galaxy?

Look, I’m all for the Sounders. But we are discussing the Galaxy.

I don't feel like digging into the specifics right now, because this isn't really the place for it, but just how much bigger is the Galaxy's budget compared to teams like Malmö, Ludogorets, Shakhtar Donetsk, or Austria Wien—teams that have either embarrassed the Galaxy or come dangerously close to knocking them out?

The bottom line is that the Galaxy operates with a significantly larger budget than most of those clubs. If you find that hard to swallow, feel free to look through some of our previous threads on the topic.

We could certainly have a conversation about the club's financial stability, though it doesn't look particularly bright when top talents are sold mid-season for peanuts.

Actually, let's not dwell on the Galaxy here again; far too much ink has already been spilled over in the Soccer subforum...

The point is this: while some see the Galaxy's performances as an embarrassment, others who look at things logically see them as a win for American soccer, and that is all that truly matters.

Furthermore, I'm curious—exactly how did Malmö, Ludogorets, Shakhtar, or Austria "embarrass" the Galaxy? Is it because they beat them or played competitively? Is that what constitutes a disgrace to you? You don't sound like a football fan to me; you sound like a hater. By that logic, what does Celtic become after losing 4-1 to Legia, despite having ten times their budget? Modern soccer is worlds apart from how it was a decade ago. Back then, people used to laugh at teams from Sweden, Armenia, or Kazakhstan; today, those countries have highly respectable clubs that act as tough opponents for anyone outside of the big European leagues.

Eric Fox7 said:Are we really going to overlook those incredible, heart-stopping moments of pure chaos? Think about it. After heavyweights like the heavy hitters from Dallas or those powerhouse squads from Atlanta secure their wins, what follows? We saw those wild, last-minute collapses in the Champions League and Europa League—like that absolute madness in the 98th minute when a massive underdog pulls off a miracle. And who could forget that grueling, stomach-turning battle in Minneapolis where teams were sweating through the final whistle just to survive? Isn't that exactly why we love this game?

Nobody is out there claiming this is a guaranteed lock, but honestly? At 7.5, that is a fantastic price for a casual weekend parlay. Why wouldn't you take those odds?

So, looking at all this talk about "discrediting" certain teams, you have to realize that because of these circumstances, clubs like Atlanta United, LAFC, and the Seattle Sounders managed to dodge those early Europa League qualifying rounds this season. That essentially means they saved a massive amount of money. Isn't that a silver lining? In my view, we really have to give credit to Inter Miami here. They’ve spent years grinding away to build up their coefficient, regardless of how much people might want to insult them for it. And let's be honest—the very clubs you’re making fun of have massive budgets and consistently make deep runs every single year. Inter Miami basically secured their own financial future through these consistent appearances. So, does it matter if things got a little rough on the pitch? Last year, if I recall correctly, Genk got absolutely demolished 7-0 by Valencia, and we've seen plenty of similar blowouts. No one bats an eye at that. At least Inter Miami didn't suffer a home loss against a side like Dundalk, which is barely on the level of a mid-tier MLS squad.

James Taylor3 said:I haven't watched their matches once in my life, but I did read about them last year when they almost made it into the Champions League. Leading up to that first game against the LA Galaxy, our media outlets were all over the idea that last year's squad and this season's roster have almost nothing in common. They kept saying that since so many players left, the team is significantly weaker now—which, honestly, was pretty obvious during that first match against the Galaxy, regardless of how poorly the LA team played.
And maybe the clearest sign of their current quality is seeing Pokrivach in the starting eleven. 😬

Haha... right. It’s funny, isn't it? Our media experts act like they have some deep insight into the strength of Kazakhstani players or those third-rate foreign imports. They suddenly become experts on who was better last year versus who is in the lineup today. Look at the facts: Shakhtar dominated Shirak from Armenia 6-1 this season and beat Lithuania's Atlantas 3-0. Meanwhile, the LA Galaxy lost at home to Dundalk.

Compared to the Shakhtar squad that faced Celtic last year, we are looking at a starting eleven featuring Mokin, Vičius, Finočenko, Maliy, Džidić, and Poryaev. On top of that, the new starters include Maslo, Kirov, Pokrivach, Konysbaev, and Topčagić. I can already see our journalists "smartly" concluding that Maslo, Kirov, and Konysbaev are inferior to the guys they replaced. 😁

Is there any universe where the LA Galaxy makes up a two-goal deficit from the first leg? Sure, theoretically, they could pull off a 2-0 win. But given the state of their defense, isn't it a bit delusional to expect them to keep a clean sheet? They'd have to score multiple goals just to stay in it. Personally, I highly doubt it.

Honestly, people love calling the team a "total fraud," yet season after season, they consistently find themselves grinding through the Europa League deep into the winter. Should we just sit back and suffer through the struggle against teams like FC Cincinnati? Maybe if we do, the Vegas oddsmakers will panic and finally bump up the odds on us. If they hit 1.55, I’m taking that bet in a heartbeat. And you know what? Once this squad starts playing under the roar of four thousand die-hard fans in a packed stadium, they’ll be absolutely unstoppable. 😁

Shakhtar is already sitting at 4.95... I’m betting we’ll see them around 6 tomorrow in the super parlays. Honestly, isn't that just mouthwatering?
Soccer Betting Tips & Discussion in Betting Forum ·
Well... you guys really got a good laugh out of me there, I have to hand it to you. That underdog euphoria is truly unbeatable. 🙂

So, you’ve decided Shakhtar is a "desperate squad" based on just one game they played—a game most of you likely watched without ever actually following the Kazakh league, if I'm being honest. And suddenly, after a string of absolutely dismal performances, Hajduk beats a "powerhouse" like Slaven Belupo and everyone thinks they’re world-class? Let's bring it back down to earth, shall we? Shakhtar has made massive strides over the last two years, and even these supposedly "desperate" players put four goals past Hajduk recently.

Hajduk is such an average side that they managed to lose to a heavy hitter like Dundalk in front of a packed stadium. Honestly, if Hajduk actually pulls this off, I’ll strip down to my underwear and run from New York all the way to Los Angeles and back again.

Gary Garcia10 said:I was wondering if Hemopropin ointment is actually an effective solution for hemorrhoids?
I know Pilex is also an option, but since there's such a gap between them regarding $100 it’s honestly a bit tough to decide which one to go with...

I've given Hemopropin a shot myself. It does help dull the pain somewhat, but in the end, it doesn't really provide much significant relief.
Dealing with hemorrhoids – any advice? in Health ·
Since this comes from my own personal experience, I thought it might be helpful to someone else out there.

My hemorrhoids used to flare up roughly every 18 months, but this most recent bout was by far the worst one yet. Last November, I dealt with a nasty stomach virus for about a week, and once that passed, the hemorrhoids showed up. For two and a half months, I suffered through intense pain every single time I had to use the restroom. I actually tried to delay my bathroom trips until late at night because I could apply a cream afterward and just go straight to sleep, hoping to wake up without the pain.

About ten days ago, I was honestly at my breaking point. Every time I had to go, it felt like walking into a firing squad; the suffering was truly immense. Finally, last week, I started searching online for surgical solutions. I came across a clinic that lists its pricing on their website. Based on the diagnostic descriptions they provide online, I realized I have second-stage hemorrhoids, which can be treated with a specific method. Including all the necessary exams, it costs a bit less than $150.

However, before committing to surgery, I decided to visit my primary care physician to get a second opinion. I figured I might not have exhausted all my options yet. My doctor provided me with a list of recommendations—various medications I could pick up at a local pharmacy. Unfortunately, in general practice, hemorrhoids aren't always treated as a serious issue, so nothing is available via prescription; you pretty much have to buy everything over the counter. One thing my doctor suggested really caught my interest, though: a syrup designed to soften stools. I’ve frequently struggled with constipation, which made everything so much more painful. I decided to pick up some Duphalac. You take two large tablespoons once a day, ideally before your first meal, and then just wait for your system to kick in. This syrup is completely safe and works as a mild laxative. Alongside that, I took some tablets to help reduce inflammation and pain, specifically Detralex 500 mg, taken twice daily. The syrup costs about $13, though I can't quite recall the price of the tablets. To top it off, I applied HemeroProtekt cream after every bathroom visit.

Within just two days, things improved drastically. I could finally go to the bathroom without agony! After a week, people around me were actually asking, "Why are you in such a great mood?" It was an incredible transformation. This week, I decided to start tapering off the medication—I'm taking the syrup every other day now, and just one tablet per day.

I don't want to sound like I'm exaggerating, but this helped me immensely. The change has been nothing short of amazing. I don't even feel pain anymore when I have to sit for long periods at work.

So, if anyone hasn't tried this approach yet, please give it a shot. I say this as someone who has tested just about every cream on the market.
Hi everyone!

I stopped by a private clinic yesterday for my routine annual physical. They turned the results around pretty quickly, and for the most part, everything looks great. However, there are three specific markers that fell just outside the standard reference ranges, and I was hoping someone could help me make sense of them. For context, I'm 31 years old.

1. ALT - The standard range is 10 - 48, but mine came back at 53.

2. Triglycerides - Usually, you want this under 1.7, but I'm sitting at 2.3. I assume this is linked to my cholesterol, which actually looks fine at 4.3 (since the limit is 5.0).

3. Uric Acid - The normal range is typically between 182 and 403, but my level hit 479.

That’s the whole list; everything else is perfectly within the normal limits.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can share!
