I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much of our culture is tied to these local institutions that have existed for generations. It’s one thing when a big corporation pivots or a tech company changes its business model, but it feels entirely different when it's something that defines a community's identity.

There's this creeping trend where "streamlining" and "fiscal responsibility" are used as excuses to just wipe out things that people actually care about. I remember my dad used to take me to matches every weekend, and those colors meant something to our whole town. It wasn't just a game; it was a ritual. Now, it feels like the people making the decisions are looking at spreadsheets instead of looking at the stands.

If we keep letting the "bottom line" dictate which parts of our heritage survive, what’s going to be left in twenty years? Do we even value the soul of these traditions anymore, or are we just waiting for everything to become a sanitized, centralized brand?

Does anyone else feel like local identity is being sacrificed for the sake of making things "manageable"?

The connector? I'm a bit lost here... not really sure which one would be the best choice for this...

Can anyone recommend a decent wireless antenna? I need my laptop to pick up more networks... maybe something from Alpha M or just some shop in a city like Chicago or something... looking for something that isn't dirt cheap, but also won't break the bank. Just nothing low-quality... ideally, I want an antenna where it clearly states the range for 6GHz and stuff like that. Also, if I'm using an old laptop from 2004, like an Acer TravelMate 2490, what kind of GHz frequencies can it even catch? Sorry if I have the wrong info in this PDF I'm looking at, and sorry if this topic is out of place... I just really need some answers to these questions!

p.s. I'm running Windows Mint, if that matters at all
