The "untouchable" player dilemma
in Fans ·
I was watching some highlights last night and it got me thinking about how much roster management has changed. It feels like every time a team builds around a specific cornerstone, the rumor mill starts spinning about whether they're actually willing to let that person walk or if they'll trade them just to shake things up.
There’s always that tension between loyalty to a star and the cold, hard logic of a rebuild or a strategic pivot. Personally, I hate seeing a fan base get their hopes up only for a key piece to get moved for a package of prospects that might not even pan out. It feels like a massive gamble with the team's identity.
Do you think it's better for a team to stick with their established stars even if it means missing out on new talent, or is moving a big name sometimes the only way to keep things from getting stagnant?
