Low enough that my BMI is sitting above 27. To qualify for Wegovy, you basically need at least one metabolic issue along with a BMI over 27... or just a BMI over 30 on its own.

Just thought I’d pop in and share a quick update. I started this journey on April 1st weighing in at about 142 pounds (I'm pretty short, so every pound counts 🙂). For the first week, I was on Victoza at 0.6, then bumped up to 1.2. I’ve decided not to go any higher than 1.2; I'm just staying right there. Once I finish this batch of Victoza—which was actually my substitute brand—I'll be switching over to Saxenda.

My appetite is pretty much nonexistent now... I can barely eat much because if I overdo it, my stomach just starts hurting quite a bit. After those initial side effects flared up during the first week, things have been great. Honestly, I feel fine now, almost zero issues left.

My typical daily routine looks like this: a white coffee with milk and just a tiny bit of sugar in the morning, lunch around noon (usually about half of what I used to eat), and then maybe one single square of chocolate after that. Around 6 PM, I'll have some whole grain toast with something on it, or maybe some kefir or cottage cheese. After that, I don't eat anything until the next day 😛.

I haven't really banned any specific foods. Actually, once I started the Victoza, I brought back some carbs and sugar that I had cut out earlier this year (back when I lost absolutely nothing in four months) but I'm keeping the portions very small.

Right now, I'm sitting at 132 pounds, which means I'm down 10 pounds since I started the treatment. 🎉

Since my usual Wegovy was out of stock, I switched over to Victoza for a bit until things stabilize... I spent the first week sticking to 0.6, but then I bumped it up to 1.2 for the last three days.

The side effects have definitely kicked in since I moved up to the 1.2 dose. My appetite is basically non-existent—I just don't feel like eating anything. My stomach feels constantly unsettled; I can barely finish half a normal meal. Once I actually do eat, there’s this heavy, bubbling, churning sensation in my gut, plus heartburn and nausea. A little baking soda helps for maybe an hour or two, but before that, I'm just dealing with pain, nausea, and feeling totally wiped out. Last night was weird too... had this strange shivering and nausea that didn't let up until I finally managed to get warm.
My main goal is just to drop about 20 pounds to hit my target weight and hopefully get my insulin resistance under control.

As for the injections themselves, it's fine. I ended up buying size 8 needles because the size 6 ones felt way too small for me. It doesn't really hurt or sting at all. I usually just do it right before bed, once a day. No issues there, except 😉 I haven't really been measuring much... during both of my pregnancies, I was on daily heparin for the full 40 weeks, which stings like crazy and leaves bruises everywhere, so I mostly just Googled how to handle the shots.

So, how'd you manage to track down some Wegovy? Is it actually showing up in pharmacies lately?

Look, Carrie, I’m not exactly uneducated here... I wasn't just pulling numbers out of thin air. I specifically asked about the formula because, obviously, you have to calculate it using my actual insulin and glucose levels. But hey, thanks for the lecture on how to use Google... really helpful.

TaylorSwift13 I ordered mine through email at skvv.narucivanje@kb-merkur.hr, but obviously you need that referral from your OB-GYN entered into the system first. I had a referral for a full endocrine workup. They just booked me for the first available slot with any doctor, which ended up being a three-week wait to see Dr. Bill. At my first appointment, he sent me off to the lab for everything: a CBC, metabolic panel, insulin levels, Vitamin D, thyroid hormones, and liver function tests.

So, I had my final checkup at the Mayo Clinic yesterday... after all the tests and bloodwork came back, my endocrinologist basically told me it was time to start on Ozempic and some Vitamin D.
I've been dealing with PCOS, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, and a vitamin deficiency.

I spent all last night calling every single pharmacy in town, but Ozempic is nowhere to be found.

Does anyone have any leads on where or how I can actually track some down?

I used to take metformin, but it just made me feel terrible and, frankly, it wasn't doing anything for me.
On top of everything else, I'm being incredibly strict with my diet—zero sugar and almost no carbs—but my weight is just stuck. Not a single pound lost. I'm trying to drop about 20 pounds.

Please, if you have any advice on where to find Ozempic, let me know. The only place that says they have it is the specialty pharmacy near Pike Place Market, but they want to charge me double through some special procurement thing. They quoted me $355 for a pack of 3 Ozempic pens 🙂, and then $560 for 5 pens!
