Thanks, Amy Kim25, but let’s be real—when you’re carrying this much extra weight, things tend to move a little faster right out of the gate. For me, losing those few pounds feels like a drop in the bucket compared to where I started. I was sitting at a BMI north of 50 when I began this journey, so you can probably imagine the scale was looking pretty terrifying.

Good for you for staying positive and keeping up with it... and I am genuinely thrilled to hear everything went smoothly!!
My BMI was also over 50, so believe me, I am counting every single pound as a victory. I’m fully aware of how deep of a hole I dug for myself, and I’m just relieved to finally be doing something about it. It’s honestly such a relief to have a space like this where we can actually talk about what we're going through. To be completely blunt, I avoided seeing a doctor for the longest time because I foolishly thought I could just white-knuckle my way through this on my own. But all that does is waste years of your life while the weight just keeps climbing higher and higher.

how's it going?

how are you all holding up—are those pounds actually dropping off yet? I’m down another pound on the scale, which honestly feels like a massive win right now, especially since I’ve moved up to the 2.4 mg dose

Gorge;98083899 said:Hey, congrats on dropping 5 pounds. That’s a solid amount to lose—honestly, that’s pretty much what I managed to pull off in a single month myself.

As far as meal planning goes, I’m probably not the best person to ask for advice since my appetite hasn't actually vanished; it just sort of dialed itself back. So, I usually stick to three meals a day, maybe grabbing a piece of fruit here and there if things are going normally.

Regarding my doctors, I didn't have my first follow-up with the endocrinologist until the three-month mark, and now they've got me scheduled for another check-in in about six to eight months. Meanwhile, I'm seeing the nutritionist every six weeks.

I honestly can't wait to get this surgery behind me so I can finally get my life back to normal.

Thanks for getting back to me,
And fingers crossed that the weight keeps coming off at this rate...
My big goal is to get pregnant, but let's be real, that's just not an option while I'm carrying this much extra weight, so the whole thing is incredibly stressful for me... my next big appointment isn't for another eight months.
STAYING POSITIVE 🙂

Hey, so here I am—after five months on Victoza and now switching over to Saxenda, I’ve dropped 5 pounds.
Ladies, how on earth do you force yourselves to stick to a regular meal schedule? That is easily my biggest hurdle; since I don't feel hungry, I just end up skipping meals all day long, and then—boom—everything implodes in the evening. I honestly can't stand myself sometimes, constantly letting myself down because I just can't seem to find any semblance of discipline. How did you all manage to get a handle on this?

Megan Anderson5, take it easy; obviously, surgery comes with its own set of risks, but seeing how persistent you've been so far, I really believe you'll keep moving forward at the same steady pace.
How often do you guys see an endocrinologist? I won't even have my nutrition workshop for another six months.

I’m actually having the exact opposite experience; ever since I started on Ozempic, my energy levels have been through the roof. Even those nagging headaches finally cleared up after just a few days. Personally, now that I’ve hit the 1.8 mg dose, I don't even feel the urge to eat, especially if I try to have anything in the evening—it just makes me feel nauseous. I’ve managed to drop 4 pounds so far, but honestly, that’s barely a dent in the grand scheme of things.

Megan Anderson5 said:Hey, I’ve been on Ozempic 3.0 for quite a while now. For me, side effects usually only kick in right after I bump up the dose—you know, just a day or two, maybe three, following the increase. It’s mostly just nausea.

Back when Ozempic wasn't available, I was using Victoza, and since those pens don't go all the way up to 3, I ended up mixing doses, doing 1.8 plus 1.2, and now that I’m back on Wegovy, things have taken a weird turn. I’ve lost weight incredibly fast. Looking back, maybe I should have restarted from the beginning, but I didn't, so I stayed at 3, and now the weight is just falling off even faster. From January 20th until today, I’ve dropped 17 pounds total. I’m happy with it. I still get hungry, obviously, but I’m never actually starving. I'm staying mindful and sticking to my workouts.

If the dosage isn't sitting right with you, why not try scaling it back a tiny bit? Not going all the way back down to 2.4, but maybe 2.4 plus a few extra clicks, which is what some people here do.

As for those air bubbles, from what I can see, it shouldn't matter because you aren't injecting into a vein. So, it really shouldn't be an issue (full disclaimer: I am not a doctor or a nurse or anything like that).

WOOOW, amazing!! After just two weeks, I'm already down 4 pounds! I honestly can't even describe the feeling I had this morning when I stepped on the scale. I'm heading to my endocrinologist tomorrow to figure out our next move.
I just hope we all keep moving forward together—on the scale and in everything else, making sure things keep getting better!🙂

Maria Reed44 said:Is anyone else currently on Saxenda 3.0? How’s the appetite situation? I’m gearing up to start the 3.0 regimen tomorrow and I'm honestly terrified that I'll still be dealing with this constant hunger. So far, I've only managed to drop 5 pounds in 7 weeks, but hey, I suppose anything is better than nothing at all.

Great, pound by pound—because I’d much rather have 5 fewer pounds than 5 extra ones, obviously. Has Saxenda actually shown up in any local pharmacies yet? I ended up switching to Victoza because Saxenda was nowhere to be found.

Amy Kim25 said:Can we all just list out every single side effect you're dealing with? It would be helpful to have everything organized in one spot for once.

Well, looking back at what I've dealt with so far, the side effects kicked in right when I bumped up my dosage—specifically some nasty vomiting, heartburn, and this overwhelming sense of lethargy, plus those debilitating headaches that hit me during the first two days after increasing the dose. Honestly, when I was on the 0.6 mg dose, I didn't feel a single thing wrong. Right now, I'm two weeks into using Victoza 2.
Plus, I've got absolutely zero appetite and honestly don't even feel like eating, which, if I'm being completely honest with myself, is actually a massive win.🎉

I bumped my dose up to 1.2 today.

Way to go—every pound counts, and honestly, I’ve already seen the scale drop since I started this journey; I'm on day 12 now and currently taking 1.2 mg of Victoza. It is such a relief that my appetite has finally quieted down, and I've actually started being mindful about what I'm putting in my mouth, so I'm really hoping to see some more significant progress by the end of the week.

So, how much weight have they actually lost? My BMI is through the roof right now, and I'm just sitting here waiting on my insulin resistance test results, but honestly, I'm feeling pretty good about things so far because my appetite has absolutely plummeted.

Here I am again, because apparently, I haven't suffered enough today. Has anyone else dealt with these relentless headaches since starting Victoza or any other liraglutide? Ever since I bumped up my dosage, my appetite has completely vanished—which sounds great until you realize I spent all of yesterday violently vomiting for hours on end. Honestly, I’m sitting here terrified that it might happen all over again today. On top of that, this headache just won't quit; it's constant. What kind of results have you guys actually seeing after being on this stuff long-term?

Hey there, I just started on Victoza, and I’m currently on day eight of the treatment. So far, I haven't experienced any side effects at all, which is a relief, though I suppose I should be bracing myself. Fingers crossed that things stay this smooth
