I was thinking about this today after watching some old highlights. There’s just something about that specific type of comeback that hits different. It isn't even about the stats or the glory; it's that weird, heavy mix of fear and pure frustration you feel when your body just won't cooperate with your head.

I remember sitting on my couch a couple of years ago after a bad injury, watching my favorite team play, and feeling this genuine ache in my chest. It’s not just about wanting to play again; it’s the fear that you’ve lost that connection to the thing you love most. You start wondering if the "spark" is actually gone for good or if you're just being dramatic.

When you finally do step back out there, even if it's just for a few minutes, it’s such a massive emotional release. It's like proving something to yourself more than anyone else.

Do you guys think that "hunger" to return is what keeps athletes going, or is it mostly just muscle memory and habit?

I'm looking into getting my bloodwork done at Arither, specifically with Dr. Velnić. I want a second opinion because I’ve been burned a few times by our local general hospital.

Great talk. Had my checkup, everything was explained clearly, and I walked away with straight answers to all my questions. No ambiguity.

He recommended the surgeon, but honestly, I like their method better than what you get at those general hospitals. Since we’re talking about a permanent fix, there isn't much to weigh up. It's a no-brainer.

Thanks to everyone who jumped in to help out on this thread. Much appreciated. 😁

So, the pain kicked in on Thursday, then I felt a blister on Friday. After a totally sleepless night, I went in for an exam; one internal and one external.
They put me on some Vactu cream and some anti-inflammatory pills.
Woke up this morning with blood after a bowel movement, so back to the doctor. He says surgery isn't inevitable just yet. 😢
I've never had issues before, but now the pain is making life miserable, and they're already talking about operating...
Alright, as promised:

Nothing here's actually good XD

I wear contacts. I don't usually bring it up unless someone asks specifically—without them, I'm basically blind. I've been wearing them for maybe 15 years now, and I'm comfortable enough to even sleep in them if I have to. Since glasses aren't really an option for me... is keeping this quiet a good move? 😉

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I wear contacts and without them, I'm useless. But honestly, I don't think it's wise to leave it unsaid. 🤷

I waited six weeks before hitting the gym again, and even then, it wasn't quite the same. The strain is intense; just thinking about heavy lifting makes my face turn red from the blood pressure spike, haha.😁 Three to four weeks should be plenty. When doctors tell you two months, they're probably just covering their bases legally.

Thanks for the input. Four weeks sounds way better than two months... 😁

I really hope you guys are talking about actual significant corrections, otherwise this feels... 🙂

Don't sweat it. If I went through with it, mine would be purely cosmetic. Given the size of my nose (that bump), I'm assuming it'd be a pretty major procedure...

As for your situation, I don't think you have anything to worry about! 😁
Hey everyone! 😁

New here, but I know how the forum etiquette works 🙂

There’s a massive amount of content on here. I’ve scrolled through about 70% of it already, and it seems like people opt for surgery year-round. I wanted to ask if the season actually matters at all? Like, is there any real advantage to doing it in the winter versus the summer?

I’m still struggling to pull the trigger, and honestly, the only thing holding me back is the recovery time. I’m active every single day, and the thought of being sidelined for two months is a tough pill to swallow...

p.s. I'll post some photos of this disaster later 😠
