Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I'm looking to see a breast surgeon. Can anyone recommend a specialist at Mayo Clinic who does great work? I'd want them to perform a reduction—also, how long is the wait for an initial consultation and the actual procedure??

Pick up some Fersan Forte and eat plenty of cooked apples—it’ll soften things up when the iron makes everything too hard. Whatever you do, don't touch Ferrum; my doctor specifically told me at discharge that Fersan Forte is the superior choice for nursing mothers and postpartum recovery. He warned me against the Ferrum because it absolutely wreaks havoc on the stomach and causes all sorts of issues... I also deal with low blood pressure and iron deficiency, so I'm curious which symptoms you're dealing with. After my first baby, I was terrified by it all, but I was much better prepared the second time around... anyway, stick to Fersan Forte and cook those apples into a compote. Good luck 👍

That’s perfectly normal—it was the exact same for me after both of my deliveries. You simply have to REST. Lie down as much as possible, stay hydrated, and avoid overexertion... childbirth is an absolute assault on a woman's body. I used to wonder why I felt so drained myself—once, I actually just collapsed onto the floor... you need to prioritize rest with the baby. When the baby sleeps, you sleep. Keep activities to a minimum.

feralharbor89, which hospital did you go to for the irigography?

If anyone knows a good specialist at Mount Sinai, I’d appreciate it—though we're open to other hospitals in the area.
Thanks! 🙂

I think the doctor's name was either Ozegovic or Ogrizovic 🙂 I can't quite recall—he works over at the Los Angeles Lakers clinic. He performs adenoidectomies on kids with zero blood loss... honestly, I was stunned by how smoothly it went. Just a word of caution: don't let them touch those adenoids unless the child is at least 4 years old. We didn't realize they could grow back, so we had to be smart about the timing... As for Mount Sinai, their pediatric ENTs are top-tier. We head there whenever there's an emergency, and I haven't had a single complaint about any of the doctors... truly excellent staff...

wanderingcobra76 which hospital actually keeps a WC inside the imaging suite? I heard this story from a very young woman who went in for an irigography—she said they pumped her up so much she thought her intestines were going to explode... and afterward, everything just "flew" out of her before she could even reach the WC. She’s still traumatized by it today—says there is zero chance she’d ever undergo that test again. Personally, I had my colonoscopy under anesthesia, so I don't even truly know what the procedure entails; all I know is that my pain tolerance is practically non-existent 😢 I didn't even feel the rectoscopy, and I breezed through the small bowel follow-through because it isn't painful—the real disaster was that chalky prep liquid I had to drink. Some people with me that day were actually vomiting because the taste was so revolting...
what should I do? what can I expect...
feralharbor89 could you walk me through your experience? how does it work? It's vital for me to know exactly what to expect—like, okay, first they do this, then that, then this specific test happens, and the whole thing lasts this long... I don't know, it would just make things easier for me...

Has anyone here actually gone through this specific procedure—this "nightmare" search I keep hearing about? People keep recommending it to me, and while I’ve survived just about every other GI test out there, I’m seriously hesitant about this one. I heard rumors that they won't even perform it under anesthesia, and some lady I spoke with mentioned she’s still traumatized by her irrigation study to this day... I'm looking for honest feedback. Please, just give me your actual experiences—no sugarcoating and no exaggerating 😉

Does anyone here have firsthand experience with the doctors at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia? I’m looking for a solid recommendation... Honestly, I'm already exhausted just thinking about dealing with the grumpy, high-strung, and completely indifferent physicians there. It would be a huge help if someone could clarify their office hours—I heard you can walk in without an appointment most days, but I need to know which doctor will actually be in the clinic to see my child... At this point, finding someone who is actually competent and sane would be a dream...
