Eat smaller portions, watch what you eat, and change how you cook.
Get regular exercise, or at least walk every single day.
Maybe try some insulin resistance therapy.
Nobody gains weight out of thin air... it’s usually just overeating combined with a sedentary lifestyle.

Thanks for the input, but I've already tried all that. ☕

I've been an athlete my whole life, training intensely five times a week for the last two years.
I am already on medication for insulin resistance, as I mentioned in my first post.
I haven't touched sugar or white flour in years.
I know glycemic indices and nutrition inside and out.
I have metabolic syndrome... losing weight is nearly impossible under these conditions.

Before you comment on things like that, consider that everyone's body is different. Just because losing weight is easy for you doesn't mean it's easy for everyone.

Not yet. Based on what I've seen, Dr. Mirošević and Dr. Božek have some positive reviews.
I'll keep digging... I definitely need a second opinion (my nephrologist insisted I get one from an endocrinologist anyway).

If you meet the BMI criteria, I don't see why anyone would refuse to prescribe it. It’s designed for weight management. Technically, it should be Wegovy, but since Wegovy isn't widely available here yet, everyone just calls it Ozempic. Until it becomes more accessible, people stick to Ozempic because it outperforms Saxenda for both blood sugar and weight control. With Ozempic, I wouldn't even need extra glucose meds, unlike the Farxiga (or Glucophage before that) I'm currently taking.

To any decent doctor, there is no hierarchy between diabetes and obesity. Both are chronic conditions requiring treatment. One shouldn't take precedence over the other.

Regards,
My endocrinologist turned me down for Ozempic. According to him, I'm not a candidate despite having a high BMI, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, and prediabetes. He claims if I just eat less, the weight will drop off...🤦
I have absolutely no comment on that statement...😲

Right now, I'm on regular blood pressure medication and Metformin (they just bumped up my dose because it had zero effect over the last ten months).

Could you please DM me which endocrinologist you saw? I'm looking for a second opinion from someone who acts like a "normal" doctor—someone who actually takes these issues seriously.
Thanks 🙂

She should probably try everyone from Rib, Vinogradski, Klaićev, to Vuk Vrhovec... though I'm not sure about Holy Spirit.

Specifically, I’m currently dealing with high blood pressure at Mercury under Dr. Prkačin. I can't recommend her enough; nobody else has taken such a serious approach to this issue. She even confirmed my insulin resistance and weight loss struggles.

The same doctor referred me to an endocrinologist, Dr. Bulum, also at Mercury. His approach was a total disaster—absolutely useless. He just gave me a quick glance and concluded my weight issues were simply due to overeating. That was it. He just told me to stick to a 1,200-calorie diet because, apparently, "you just need to eat less." 🤦

So, I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a specific physician who actually takes patient care seriously.

I've seen quite a few good reviews for Dr. Mirošević at Vinogradski, so I might consider booking an appointment with her.

Looking for an endocrinology recommendation for a younger patient. Need to screen for potential thyroid issues, address ongoing insulin resistance, and manage obesity...
Location is Chicago, covered by Social Security Administration...

Thanks🎉
