Drivers for electronic ID card reader

I managed to find the drivers on a CD-ROM, but the noise coming from the CD-ROM sounds more like a grinding sander than a drive. I called the geniuses over at Best Buy, and they had the nerve to suggest either the CD-ROM is broken or I damaged the disc. Obviously, neither is true...
Modern Windows versions come with built-in drivers for these smart card readers (Microsoft Usbccid Smartcard Reader WUDF), so you should really just be able to plug it in and go.😁
