Gaming isn't really my thing. Zero interest.
Just browsing, music, movies, Photoshop, Illustrator...
Sure, it's a downgrade, but battery life is my main priority right now.
I can't just swap in a spare battery since it's built-in.
Timothy Kim60, thanks for the quick links.
I've already read up on battery care and I follow most of those rules anyway.
Checked some prices for these models—pretty steep.
My plan was to aim for about $1667 if I can flip this one for $3,000–$3,500.
My old laptop is great, but besides the dying battery, it’s just huge and heavy. Who actually wants a 17-inch screen? 🙂
A 15-inch seems like the sweet spot; anything else feels too small.
What I'm looking for is a newer gen I5, full HD 1920 x1080, 8GB RAM, and an SSD paired with a 1 TB drive.
Despite the clickbait title, I’m actually hoping someone can help me out here.
I have a decent laptop, but the battery life is just pathetic. I’m looking for something that actually lasts. It’s always been an issue—even when it was brand new back in October 2016, I could barely get max 2 hours out of it.
My current setup is an ASUS N752VX-GC105D. It’s a 17-inch machine with really solid specs, but that doesn't mean much when it dies in less than an hour and a half. Lately, it’s been shutting down even when it says it has 30% left. No warning, no "low battery" alert, it just goes black.
Replacing the battery would cost me $250, and honestly, even a fresh battery wouldn't satisfy my endless need for uptime.
So, I'm hunting for a 15-inch laptop with specs similar to my old one, because the performance is actually great. The only thing I definitely want this time is an SSD. I have zero use for a DVD drive.
Old specs:
Intel Core i7 8
8 GB RAM
1TB
Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 m led full hd 1920 x1080
full HD 1920 x1080
BTW, any idea what I could realistically ask for this thing if I sell it?
