Can I dye my hair with alopecia areata?

Hey everyone. So, I was diagnosed with alopecia areata earlier this year—basically an autoimmune thing where hair falls out in patches. I haven’t touched my hair with any dye since finding out. Just wondering if anyone knows if coloring can actually make things worse, or if anyone else here is dealing with the same thing?
