Yeah, those ear thermometers use infrared. I actually need them for taking temperatures at night with the kids—and while I know the battery life holds up for about 5,000 readings, this whole calibration process is throwing me off... thanks, Eric Newman65.

Ugh... I’d need enough for about 40 kids—and since flu season is right around the corner, that's going to end up being way too expensive...
