My old man went through cancer surgery and pulled through just fine, so if any of you are dealing with someone fighting that kind of battle, honestly, just being there for them through everything is the most important thing you can do. This might sound totally wild and completely unhinged, but my uncle told me this story once—back in the day, one of his buddies had some kind of tumor on his liver or stomach, I can't quite remember which, but anyway, the guy and his crew were out hiking one day when he gets bitten by a snake, and somehow, the tumor just vanishes. I'm serious, the whole medical team was losing their minds; they had to run the tests over and over again because they couldn't believe what they were seeing.
