That's just the reality you have to deal with. You take it one day at a time, focus on living your best life possible, and stay on top of those checkups.
Thanks for the input..
I'm still asking—if anyone here has gone through something similar to what my dad is facing, please reach out..
Thanks
Hey,
My dad (born '52) was just diagnosed with clear cell renal cell carcinoma—cancer of the left kidney. They went ahead and removed the whole thing along with the kidney itself. They managed to save the adrenal gland and the surrounding lymph nodes, too. He’s recovering well so far. The pathology report shows Stage 1B (tumor was limited to the kidney, about 5 cm) and Grade 2 (with some spots hitting Grade 3). Everything else—CT scans, lung X-rays—looks totally fine. After the surgery, the doctors sent him home basically telling him he’s a healthy man again because everything was caught early—it was "hidden" inside. They told him to stick to regular checkups, watch himself, and he'll be fine. Since this happened, he's quit smoking and drinking, and he's trying to eat much cleaner—cutting out red meat and salt entirely. This whole ordeal clearly shook him up—which is normal—and he's feeling a bit mentally down. I want to help him somehow—I don't want him living in fear. I'm convinced that a clean diet and keeping stress levels low can help prevent a recurrence. I also suggested some immune boosters like Graviola or certain vitamin supplements; right now, he's taking royal jelly.
Does anyone have any solid advice? Also, does anyone know what the actual odds are for a recurrence in a case like this?
Thanks a lot.
