PSG vs. Atlanta United X2 @ 2.50 (3-0)
So, looking at this matchup, PSG is going to be without Cavani after that red card, and I’m not entirely sure what the deal is with Ibrahimović’s injury, but I’m guessing he’s out too. Without their two biggest stars, winning might be a stretch for them. They also look a little winded, maybe, since they just came off a heavy Champions League game. As for Atlanta United, they’re having a solid season. If they can just tighten up the defense, they might actually hold their own against the home team. PSG has swept the last five meetings between these two, so I suppose it’s about time Atlanta broke that streak and walked away with at least a point.
Manchester City vs. Chelsea | 1 @2.50 (1-1)I guess City really needs this win. They've only picked up one point from their last two league games, and then they went and lost that Champions League matchup against Bayern Munich. Still, I don't think that’ll rattle them too much. They have a solid squad, and honestly, they look better than Chelsea right now. Chelsea looked pretty lackluster in that game against a mediocre Schalke side—they showed some real cracks, mostly in a midfield that seems slow and lacks chemistry. This is probably the first real litmus test for Mourinho's squad. Up until now, they haven't faced anyone truly serious in the league, if you don't count Everton or that crazy high-scoring shootout where they were great upfront but totally checked out defensively. City will likely exploit those weaknesses. I'm expecting all three points for the home side.
Chelsea vs Arsenal X2 @ 1.70 (6:0)
In this London derby, Chelsea might be slight favorites, mostly because Arsenal hasn't looked great on the road lately. But honestly, in the Premier League, anyone can win a derby like this. I have a feeling Arsenal might actually pull it off, though a draw looks pretty plausible too. I guess Mourinho might end up regretting saying his squad isn't title material—it’s obviously just a tactic to take the pressure off the players, but he knows this new generation still needs time to gel. Even if Arsenal is objectively weaker right now due to some injuries, they could grab the win if they play their best game of the season. For Wenger, this is make-or-break. He needs to get these guys fully motivated. They’ve struggled in the Champions League this season, so they really ought to make up for it in the league.
SC Freiburg vs Werder Bremen both teams to score @ 1.75 (3:1)
Even though Werder is sitting 7 points clear of the relegation zone, things could still get messy for them. After today's loss, they really need to dig in and hunt for a win here; their form seems to be picking up slightly, I guess. On the flip side, SC Freiburg is fighting tooth and nail to secure a spot in European competition next season, so a win is pretty much mandatory for them in this
match. I'm expecting an open game from both sides. Both teams have been leaking goals all season, so maybe we'll see plenty of action today too.
Napoli-Porto X2 @ 1.80 (2:2)
Porto heads into this one with a 1-0 lead. Keeping a clean sheet in the first leg was probably their biggest win, and I guess if they play solid defense today, they might just pull off the advancement.
To be fair, their domestic form hasn't been anything special this season—they've definitely struggled in the league lately—and
maybe the USA tournament could be their consolation prize. They really ought to capitalize on a big chance today. It won't be easy against a tough Napoli defense, but I suppose Porto has the talent to make it happen.
