Fine, whatever. You claim you have your own battles to fight, and that’s clearly where your priorities lie right now. Enjoy feeling superior on the pitch and in the stands...
I honestly can't tell if you're playing dumb or what... Of course the league is still crooked, of course the mafia still has a stranglehold on American soccer, and of course nothing changed the second the whistle blew against the Locomotives!
But hey, even in this rigged system, despite the biased officiating, the brutal schedule, and being constantly underestimated, the Los Angeles Dodgers actually pulled off the trophy. We won it in a season where the club was practically bankrupt, a season that started with us playing matches in empty parking lots, a season where everyone predicted we'd be relegated. The Dodgers have been getting shafted all year long. Against us, they've called penalties five yards outside the box, stolen double-digit points from us, and given us maybe one and a half penalties the entire season...
People watching on TV said the best moment was seeing Davor Šuker handing out our medals. Mostly because you could see the sheer regret on his face. Then you had Vrbanović smirking on screen after the Locomotives took the lead. Et cetera, et cetera...
Don't play stupid and try to conflate two different things. Yes, you might have zero reason to celebrate anything. But we certainly do!
Now, just to partially address the previous point.
To quote myself😍 from the corner bar: "We need to shatter the myth that this city lives and breathes for the Dodgers. Maybe they do, but they're asleep at the wheel. They'll wake up in a hundred years when it's time to really stick it to the New York City crowd or head down to see Kvasina. This issue is massive, and we have to talk about it. It's tied directly to those kids wearing Barcelon's jerseys and the whole issue of people disappearing during big games at the stadium."
The mission for those of us in the club today is to hammer home one thing: the Dodgers aren't some amateur outfit run by crooks and slackers!! That's the foundation. Once that's set, maybe some average Joe—who's probably a notch above Blay in intelligence—won't feel the need to randomly tweet about debts and nonsense when he likely doesn't even know who Branka Ramljak is.
It’s a long haul, and we can't expect people to change an opinion they've held for twenty years overnight, but those of us in the club have to stay persistent. That’s why, in every single debate, I patiently explain to every idiot that the Dodgers are finally on the right track, and that paying $33 in NH doesn't mean we're funding new spoilers for Štimčev's car.
I think this is part of the reason why we haven't become the next Borussia Dortmund yet. But if we can make it happen, we will!...
