GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
So, I was just digging through the specs, and it looks like this Energon power supply only comes with one 6+2 Pin PCI-E connector.
But according to the requirements for the AMD Radeon R9 270 X, you actually need two 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors.
Does that mean I'm basically dead in the water with this power supply, or am I just completely misreading the situation here?

I'm aware of that, which is exactly why I'm asking
I just don't want to deal with a hardware failure before its time
but alright, thanks

Hey there.
I'm wondering if I'm going to run into any issues using an Energon EPS 650 w power supply if I pair an R9 270 x with an Intel Core i5.

Ordering online isn't an issue at all.
Buying this one is going to cost me a pretty penny, so I'm wondering if that price jump actually delivers anything worthwhile. I don't exactly run high-end AAA titles; my main goal is just making sure FIFA runs smoothly without any stuttering.
My current power supply is an EVGA 650W PSU.

So, if I pair this up with the rest of my old hardware, am I actually going to get decent performance out of this game?
(I’m assuming the GPU is the main bottleneck here, though everything else is pretty close to the recommended specs)

Hey,

These are the specs required for the new FIFA, so I'm trying to figure out which graphics card would actually hit those recommended requirements.
My current setup is
an Intel Pentium G3220, 4GB of RAM, and an ASUS HD 6670.

What’s the best bang for my buck if I've got $600$233?

Alright, look... I picked up an IPS236 and I'm running into some issues. Specifically, two problems, namely
1., once I get it hooked up and set the resolution to 1920x1080, it keeps reverting back to 1280x800 every single time I reboot. I already tried installing the drivers from the disc, but that did absolutely nothing; as soon as I power cycle the thing, it goes right back to the old setting. 🤷
2., I've currently got it running on a VGA cable, but whenever I try switching over to DVI, everything looks fine until Windows loads, and then the screen just goes black.

Look, I know I’m covered by a warranty, but every time I asked for advice, the consensus was basically "just stay away from Samsung." And while those people might not be top-tier experts or anything...
Anyway, even though I have the warranty, I’d much rather just buy something that actually works the first time instead of having to drag it back for a replacement.
At the end of the day, I'm just grabbing that IPS panel and calling it a day. Thanks. 😁

So, I’ve got a few options on my radar and I honestly can't decide which way to go. I was looking at that Dell UltraSharp, though I'm having second thoughts since a buddy of mine just bought a Samsung and it died on him almost immediately, and another friend actually warned me against sticking solely to Samsung brands because of reliability issues. So it's either

or
or maybe even

Can someone give me some actual, intelligent advice here?
And how much does contrast really matter for my viewing experience?

Yeah, I checked that one out too, but if I can grab something significantly better for an extra thirty bucks, I’m probably going to make that move.
What’s the deal with ABC? I haven't personally dealt with them, so I'm just going off what I've seen online, which seems fine enough to me.

First off, my bad if I’m accidentally starting a thread that’s already been bumped, but here we go.
Basically, I’m looking to pick up a new 22 or 23-inch monitor at a reasonable price point.

And specifically
So... anyone got an opinion?
Does buying an Acer automatically mean you're settling for garbage quality?

...
Also, I won't be using this for heavy gaming—maybe some occasional soccer sims—it's mostly just for watching movies.
