My dad is driving me absolutely insane with how anxious he gets.🙂

And yeah, here in the States, lung cancer is handled by pulmonologists, which seems pretty illogical to me, but that's just how things work around here.

It feels completely illogical to me too. When I asked my doctor about it, she just told me the oncologist decides on the therapy and the pulmonologist handles everything else. Makes no sense, I guess.

So, I actually asked his doctor about this yesterday, and she claims none of that stuff should interfere with the chemo. I guess.😕 So, he had his second round of chemo yesterday, and he’s feeling pretty rough today. He isn't actually throwing up or anything, just dealing with some constant nausea. I guess that's just how it goes.
Yesterday, right before he started his chemo, the doctor mentioned that the results were looking better—basically, that the first round actually worked.😍
By the way, is it actually normal for him to be seeing a pulmonologist instead of an oncologist? He’s getting treated over at Merkur Hospital.
Angela Wright said:Lisa Ross81, antioxidants aren't really a good idea while you're actually undergoing chemo. They basically just bind to the toxins that are supposed to be killing off the cancer cells. It might be okay to use them between cycles to help bounce back, though. Since Beta-glucan is a pretty potent antioxidant, I'd probably stick to that if anything.
As for prostate issues, I don't have a ton of experience there, but I know Dr. Trnski over at Vinogradski is an absolute expert. You should go see him for a second opinion or even have him handle the biopsy. My late uncle lived to be 95 thanks to him, and that was 20 years after his prostate diagnosis.

My dad is scheduled for his second round of chemo tomorrow. Right now, he’s mostly sticking to Aloe Arborescens, honey mixed with some herbs, juices made from carrots, beets, and celery, green tea, and low-fat cottage cheese with flaxseed oil.
Is there anything in that list he should probably avoid while he's getting chemo? He's dealing with microcellular lung cancer.
