All I actually said was that it's better to be an outsider making moves in a different city than to come crawling back here begging for scraps under someone else's thumb.
cosmicdrifter44, you're probably going to blame me when the odds shift.
Ethan Moore56, thanks for the reply.

Well, damn, it could have been Jerry Jones for all we know. It’s not like he got jumped at the Rose Bowl last time, so he isn't exactly shaking in his boots right now. Besides, he’s become an expert at dodging trouble through various backroom deals with local power players and politicians. Someone else mentioned something I actually agree with—that if what Jerry Jones pulled at the Rose Bowl had happened during a massive rivalry game in a place like New York or Chicago, where officials from the opposing teams go to taunt the home crowd, he would've been beaten senseless for good. The same goes if that kind of thing happened in Greece.
Honestly, even back in the old days, you didn't see that kind of stuff happening at the stadium, regardless of who was in charge. If something like that had gone down in Miami during that era, the players, the management, and hell, even the visiting fans probably wouldn't have made it out of the city alive.
All of this just points to the general state of mind among Americans these days. We could sit here and philosophize about it all night, but that’s not really the point of this thread, and frankly, I don't feel like doing it.

Does anyone know where I can pick up these scarves?

It feels like we're seeing the slow death of local culture one corner store at a time. These small, independent shops used to be the heartbeat of our neighborhoods, providing more than just paper and ink—they offered a sense of community that you just can't replicate when you're scrolling through an app on your couch. Now, instead of walking down a street and stumbling upon a hidden gem of a bookstore, people are being funneled toward massive distribution centers and convenience stores that wouldn't know a classic novel from a tabloid if it hit them in the face. It’s a calculated shift in how we consume information and art, driven entirely by profit margins rather than any interest in preserving the soul of a city. If we keep letting these local institutions vanish, we shouldn't be surprised when our cities start feeling hollow and identical. It’s a loss of identity, plain and simple.

Honestly, most "ultras" couldn't stomach half this much nonsense while still trying to belt out their anthems, let alone decades before the 1950s.

Last season when they grabbed the trophy, the vibe was exactly the same—kudos to you guys, you absolute donkeys, you're really opening our eyes here!
