How to wirelessly bridge two routers? in IT Support ·
I’ve been scouring the web, watching YouTube tutorials, and digging through forums, but I’m hitting a wall—it feels like this is a universal headache, and honestly, I'm probably just not tech-savvy enough to find the answer myself.
So, I signed up for a triple-play bundle and they gave me their provided router—a Netgear Nighthawk. It doesn't have any external Wi-Fi antennas. It's sitting downstairs on the ground floor, hardwired, obviously. I can catch a signal upstairs, but it's incredibly weak and keeps dropping out on me. Before we switched to this service, we were using some old connection through a TP-Link router. I still have that same router lying around, and I was wondering if it’s possible to wirelessly bridge the Netgear Nighthawk with the TP-Link—basically, have the TP-Link pick up the signal from the Netgear and then broadcast it upstairs so I can connect to it wirelessly. Is that even doable, and if so, how?

P.S. The Netgear only has four yellow LAN ports. The TP-Link has those four yellow ones plus one blue WAN port.

Man, I just realized this one's an HD screen—the other one was Full HD and had that matte finish. Is there actually a noticeable difference when you're watching movies or doing some graphic programming?
Both show a two-year warranty, but I saw at Best Buy recently that they offer some extra two-year coverage—it's called CoreX or something like that for Acer laptops—but then $67 it's also more expensive.

Man, this one is seriously tempting me. Though, I’m leaning more toward that model with the matte screen.

But, what's the deal with them ditching the optical drive? And honestly—is that built-in Intel HD5500 graphics actually going to cut it for my projects?

I'm diving into programming and decided to grab a laptop—since I'll have enough downtime at my job to really focus on it.
I don't want to waste money on a cheap machine that'll be obsolete in a year, which is why I set this budget. Either way, once I save up a bit more over the next few months, I'll probably just beef up my desktop setup at home.
To start off, I'll be working with Hawaii and Python—already picked up some books for that—and of course, I'll be getting into Android too.
I'm not picky about brands or specific specs; I'm pretty open-minded about what goes into the build.
If possible, I’d love something where I can pop in an extra SSD later just to keep things snappy.
I've done a little digging online and found a few options, but I'd love to get your take. Honestly, I'm second-guessing if I'm even on the right track.
I'll drop the links below, but please let me know if you have any better suggestions!

This one has a matte screen, which is nice

Now, this one is a 17-inch model.

Thanks!
Laptop issues after installing macOS in IT Support ·
I mean, I technically installed everything—but let’s just say I didn't exactly "install" anything.
Not sure how I managed to grab the Wi-Fi drivers but missed all the others—total mystery, really.
The issue was that they were all tucked away in .zip files, and instead of actually running the installers, I just extracted them into some random folder.
And honestly, when my buddy asked if I even grabbed them from the official site, it really made me pause—haha!
So, I just grabbed WinRAR, opened them up, and finally ran the setup. There you go—pure genius.

I finally managed to figure it out! I'm not quite sure how to close this thread, though—if someone could just walk me through that part, I'd really appreciate it.

Yeah, I grabbed it straight from the Toshiba site—downloaded it onto my tablet first, then just moved it over to my laptop.

I picked up a used laptop that was basically a brick software-wise. The admin lost the password, so I couldn't install or uninstall a single thing—total lockdown. I finally decided to just wipe it and put a fresh version of macOS 7 on it. That’s when things went south.
I did manage to get it online somehow—since the Ethernet port is clearly dead—so I'm rocking Wi-Fi for now.
But man, the display looks terrible. Everything is stretched out, and I can't get it to output properly through either the VGA or the HDMI ports to my external monitor, even though it worked perfectly fine before I wiped the system.
Every time I try to update a driver for any component, it tells me I already have the best version installed.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I thought about just dropping it off at a repair shop in Seattle, but money is tight right now—plus, I'm way too stubborn to pay someone else to solve a puzzle like this when I'm hoping some geniuses here might have a clever workaround. Help a guy out!
Thanks in advance
