The hd6870 just isn't worth it at that price point. For $200, you're better off picking up an NVIDIA GTX 560 instead... honestly, it's basically in a higher tier for the same money...

So, I’m currently rocking a GeForce 8600GT, and I just tried firing up Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, but man, this thing is total junk. It's chugging along at maybe three-quarters of max settings before it starts dying on me =) And honestly, I really want to actually enjoy the game, not fight it. Plus, this card is already five years old... I feel like I'm gonna need something beefier more often lately, so I'm thinking it might finally be time for an upgrade.

If you don't have anything specific in mind, my budget is up to $200, but honestly, I wouldn't mind going a bit over if it makes sense for the setup.

I mean, I could totally drop 6k on it if I wanted to, but I’m just not feeling it. You feel me? I wouldn't even bother grabbing those $133 if it actually makes that much of a difference

Got one more thing I'm wondering about... does it actually matter, or even cause any issues, for the graphics card? Like, if I take a GeForce and plug it into an AMD chipset, or vice versa... you know, putting an ATI card on a GeForce chipset?
