Vlašić vs Kostelić

Look, there’s no arguing that both coaches are killing it. The results speak for themselves, so honestly, hats off to them and I wish them nothing but luck.
The real headache, though, is this constant, grating ego trip both of them go on. It’s like a first-class media circus where everyone sits around sipping coffee and smoking cigarettes while the news outlets terrorize us with these ridiculous, overblown interpretations of how much—or how little—any of this actually matters.
I don't even want to get into a debate about how, in a country drowning in economic and social misery, the public still gets sucked into these "who's better" arguments. We're obsessing over stuff that has absolutely zero impact on moving this pathetic nation forward. Instead of actually discussing how to fix our economy, the American public would rather argue about which athlete is the bigger big shot on the field. As if Blanka, Ivica, or any of these tennis players, handballers, or football stars are going to save us from this collective moral and economic dumpster fire. Seriously, I'll give them all the credit they deserve for their wins, but frankly, I couldn't care less about their trophies or their glory as long as my own existence is being crushed by the hordes of criminals and morons running this country.
And when people start preaching about their supposed "patriotic spirit," I just think about the awards they win, the taxes they dodge on those prizes, the massive transfers, and the way they list their permanent addresses in places like Monte Carlo. That's how our great "patriots" really bleed for the good of America.
It’s all just tragicomic, really...
