So, I finally pulled the trigger and bought a package for a nose procedure for $1.25 at the MM Clinic over by the pond. I’m looking to get rid of a specific scar, and the doctor was actually pretty reassuring—he mentioned there shouldn't be much bruising since it's such a minor tweak. I'll have to wear a splint and tampons for about three days. I've got my consultation scheduled for next week with the actual surgeon who will be performing the work. My big hope is that there won't be any unexpected extra fees; the deal I grabbed is specifically for a tip correction, but I'm secretly hoping he can also narrow it slightly and smooth out that bulge on the right side. We'll see what he says. Honestly, I'm not nervous about the surgery itself. My real anxiety is all the logistics. I'm terrified of losing my job and then being stuck with a bill I can't cover. Plus, I'm dreading my mom's reaction when she finds out I used her credit card for this! She'll probably think I've lost my mind. Then there's my sister, who will definitely give me grief about needing a week off work—since it won't count as paid sick leave—and the whole "who's going to drive you home?" situation. Oh, wait, I figured that part out; I'll just call an Uber. 😁 First, I need to scrape the cash together to pay my mom back before I can actually go through with the surgery. Until then, I'll basically be living on bread and water while constantly worrying about what everyone is going to say to me. 🙄
I’m feeling a little shy about asking this, but if anyone could give me the quick rundown on what the recovery process looks like after nose tip surgery—specifically involving the cartilage—I’d really appreciate it. Like, should I expect red eyes, bruising under the eyes, or anything along those lines? And just out of curiosity, would I be able to hop on a city bus right after the procedure? Lol
