stormycyclist9 said:I actually had my surgery at Bagatin Medical Clinic last week, and I’m finally getting the mold removed this Saturday after they pulled the tampons out—everything went smoothly so far. Once the mold is off and I can actually see the final result, I’ll probably drop a longer post here to explain how everything felt, what the process was like, and the whole end result. I won't be posting photos directly on the forum, but I'm happy to send them via DM if anyone wants to see. On that note, I’d actually really appreciate it if someone who’s already been through this at Bagatin could shoot me some photos in my inbox? I haven't seen many people posting their results publicly, and honestly, the uncertainty is killing me... this one day of waiting is going to feel like a lifetime. 😁

Oh man... I'm heading in for my surgery tomorrow..🙂 Is wearing the brace really that painful afterward? That's the main thing on my mind right now.. 🙂
Please, someone just give me some comfort..🙂

I just wanted to say that I actually find these 3D simulations pretty cool because it lets me visualize things, you know? Like seeing how a flatter profile might look versus something a bit more upturned, or if a smaller tip or a larger one would suit me better and all that.
I'm not claiming the final result will be a carbon copy of the simulation, I'm just saying it helps a patient decide what style might work best for them, but at the end of the day, how it turns out is really up to the surgeons and God.

Well yeah, obviously... but I honestly prefer having this option, mostly because it means I won't go in with any massive expectations, so I'll probably be happy with whatever result ends up being even just slightly smaller than what I have now. 😁
I just wanted to jump in regarding that whole 3D nose simulation thing. I actually went in for a consultation with Dr. Tončić and asked him if there was any way—given how advanced tech is these days—that I could see a digital preview of what my nose might look like after everything is done..
He told me he doesn't do that because it's way too easy to just take an "eraser" tool on a computer, wipe away the part of the nose someone isn't happy with, and draw a brand new one in its place. But the reality is, they don't truly see the actual internal state or the underlying structure until they actually open things up during surgery. That’s when they decide exactly how to proceed, since every single nose is unique and you can't just apply a cookie-cutter solution to everyone. He also mentioned that his job is just as much about creativity as anything else; he has to craft a nose that doesn't just look good on its own, but actually fits perfectly with the rest of the face.

Even though I didn't get the answer I was looking for, I actually preferred it because he was being straight with me, and honestly, what he said makes total sense. 🙂 If I had seen some idealized version of my nose on a screen, I probably would have been totally crushed if the final result didn't look exactly like that digital image! On a computer, we could all just end up with the exact same nose... but in the real world, that's just not how it works..
placidlynx12 said:But you know what? It’s honestly not even about him. He did exactly what I asked for, period. Nobody could have possibly predicted how much of a transformation this would be once everything finally healed up. I mean, looking at my nose now compared to how it used to be... it's like night and day. It’s a total miracle. But if I’m being totally honest, I still wish it had just a little more of that defined, sculpted look to it. And don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing the doctor—it's really just about how I feel about myself. 😁
I mean, if you really want to send over those before and after shots, I’m definitely down to take a look? If you feel like sharing, go for it. 🙂

Oh, placidlynx12... where do I even begin with you? 😉
So, where are the pictures? 🙂
Just go ahead and send them over already. [EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED] If you can't find any other way to handle it... 😉

Can we please just keep things like full names, email addresses, and all that personal stuff to the DMs? It’s probably better for everyone if we don't broadcast that info here, right? Thanks!

I can send over some before and after shots if you want to see for yourself 🙂

oh man, I would love to see those pictures... 🙂))
Anyway, I'm just hoping everything turns out fine. I tend to be an optimist, so I try not to dwell on things going south... as long as it doesn't end up looking huge like it does now, I'll be happy. 😁 See, I don't even have a hump, it's just that my nose is overall too big, and the surgeon said he'd slim down my whole profile and fix that cartilage part that 'cuts' the shape, then add some graft to the tip to lift it up (since my tip is a bit 'hollow,' 😂).
He also mentioned that in maybe a year or two, the nose might 'drop' slightly again, which means we could potentially do another graft using ear cartilage... so tell me, would a follow-up like that fall under the 'warranty,' or am I looking at paying out of pocket again?
I've got my appointment booked with Tony Bennett for October 25th.
Does anyone actually remember their surgery? 😕 Because he mentioned they give you some kind of drug that basically wipes your memory so you won't recall a thing afterward...
I’m looking to get a rhinoplasty to lift the tip, reduce the bulbous part, and just slim down my whole profile a bit... does that little bump really come back for everyone, or what? 😕
Hey... I noticed a few of you have been singing the praises of Tony Bennett. I actually ended up seeing both him and Dr. Baudoin over at the clinic near the vineyard.
To be totally honest, I found Točnić a bit more personable, though I can't say anything bad about Baudoin either. Also, Tony Bennett told me he pulls the tampon after three days, the mold after five, and I could be back out in public in about ten days, whereas Baudoin wants to leave the tampon in for five, the mold for seven, and says I won't be ready for society for another three weeks...
So, what do you guys think? Any personal experiences or recommendations you can share?
I’m really hoping to get rid of this "thing" I'm carrying by late October so I can breeze through my midterms and other college stuff in the middle or end of November...
😕
