Everything about this is terrible lol

Oh please, your nose isn't even an issue, 🙂 you just have a slightly more prominent bridge, it's really not a big deal.

Regarding what you're dealing with, I really don't think you have anything to worry about! 😁

I used to have a huge hump myself, but look, there's no such thing as a "small" surgery—they're all basically the same deal😁 As far as getting back into sports goes, maybe a month tops. Personally, I waited about six weeks before hitting the gym again, but it's not quite the same thing since the intensity is way higher; just thinking about pushing myself too hard makes me turn red, and I'm terrified my blood pressure will spike and mess things up, haha😁 Three to four weeks should definitely be enough, and honestly, when a doctor tells you to wait two months, they’re probably just covering their own backs, who knows

I’ve basically given up on driving myself; I’m a total disaster whenever I’ve got a cold or sinus issues, and this could easily be way worse than that.

And honestly, I'll probably end up grabbing some Advil somewhere—hopefully it won't mess anything up...

Those tips about bringing my own soap and toilet paper mean a lot (basically I'm packing everything except food 😉) but the thing about the straw was huge too—I figured the cups would just be disposable, otherwise I'd be soaked the whole time 😁 and I was hoping that bottle with the cap would be fine too...

I'm starting all the testing on Monday; I got the list of labs, so I'll get those done, have my chats with the specialist and the anesthesiologist at home, and then head to the hospital with all the paperwork.
I'd love to try and talk about some cosmetic stuff while I'm already under the knife, since the doctor already gave me a look like he wouldn't touch it for aesthetic reasons, even though to me it looks way too big 🙄 if I can pull that off too—awesome, but if not, it's still a win because I'll finally be able to breathe again.

Right now, I'm mostly worried about whether I'll be puking when I wake up, either from the anesthesia or from swallowing blood and bits of it 😢

You say sleep is a toss-up anyway, partly because I'll feel like crap and partly because the whole place is going to be snoring and noisy 😁 - is there any point in bringing something to read, like a laptop or some other way to kill time? Am I even going to be in a state to actually focus on words or a screen?😉

you'll be totally fine to watch stuff, nothing's gonna hurt except maybe when you eat something after the surgery, haha, once you start feeling like yourself again 😁 to help your body recover. I used to drink those Herbalife shakes so I think I've got decent strength, but you'll just have to lie there for the first day or two and keep cold compresses on your neck—supposedly helps with the bleeding, I don't know, but basically you shouldn't have any issues.😁
Look, I’m telling you this from my own experience—I had my surgery around 9 AM, got discharged around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, and man, I felt absolutely trashed. I was so dizzy and lightheaded that it’s honestly better if someone is there with you, because you’ll be fine sitting there the afternoon before, but then comes the evening, then the next day when the surgery actually hits your system... it's just pure exhaustion. While you're lying down, you might feel okay, but the second you try to walk, the room starts spinning. When I was in the car, I had to recline the seat and just close my eyes because the fatigue was hitting me so hard; I don't even know, honestly, I'm just lucky someone was there to drive me home, haha 😁 It was about a 6-mile drive from the Mayo Clinic
My advice? Don't go alone... God forbid anything happens to you

So, I finally went under the knife for my nose surgery yesterday. Honestly, it wasn't even that bad—the only time things actually got uncomfortable was right before I tried to crash, but once I popped some Advil, I felt totally fine. It’s day two now, and yeah, there’s a little swelling going on, but I’m mostly back to my usual self. The only annoying part is that breathing through my nose is basically non-existent right now, and I can't smell a damn thing.😁
So, I finally pulled the trigger and got my nose done. Honestly, most people told me my nose looked totally fine, but I couldn't stand looking at it—it was driving me crazy—so I decided to just go for it. I spent forever hunting down a surgeon I could actually trust, which turned into this whole ordeal of consultations. I first went to see Dr. Smith, then moved on to Dr. Jones, and eventually landed with Dr. Brown. After weighing everything, Dr. Brown was the only one who actually made me feel secure and understood exactly what I wanted, so that’s who I picked. And man, I am beyond happy with the results. The entire staff there is incredible, too. One thing I absolutely cannot stand is paying a small fortune to some doctor who acts like they're God's gift to medicine and has this massive ego; that was my experience with Smith, and he even tried to lowball me on the pricing, so I basically told him to shove it and walked out of his office right then and there.😁

Haha, I honestly got the same vibe from Dr. Smith, like he just didn't really care one way or the other, but since I'd already cleared the whole surgery through email, I figured there was no point in making a scene or anything. But hey, once you're already down in NYC, there's no turning back, so I just rolled with it. Thank God everything actually turned out amazing—better than I even expected, to be honest. 🙂
So, how exactly do you think he was planning to scam people out of their cash?
Never heard a word about that before :S
So, is the tip swollen now? If it is, how bad are we talking?
I honestly don't get you guys at all; you're out here trashing him like he's some kind of walking disaster, yet you still flock to his office because he operates on celebrities—even if only one in five of them actually ends up looking good. 😁That’s exactly why I made the call to go with Dr. Smith, and honestly, I haven't looked back once, plus he’s way easier on the wallet than the other guy.
melloworca6 said:Just a heads up, you can actually post images here too. They added the img code to the health subforum a few months back. 🙂

Yeah, I know, but I'm just not really feeling the whole posting pictures thing here :P since it's all public and stuff heheh
rustygardener172, you guys can have a picture of your nose, I'll send over mine...
So, I heard Glumičić is the kind of surgeon who just goes for those smaller noses without really worrying if they actually fit your face shape or whatever. Honestly, that’s why I ended up picking Dr. Tončić; even though the consultation didn't exactly leave me feeling super optimistic, I’d already gone ahead and booked both the consult and the surgery back-to-back via email. I figured, hey, let's just rip the Band-Aid off and see what happens, so I didn't cancel. It’s been over two months now and, honestly, I’m beyond happy with how it turned out...
Some people just strike gold while others get nothing, and honestly, if you went back there again, who knows how bad things could turn out 😢
It’s been exactly two months since my surgery today, and honestly, I’m feeling pretty damn good about how things turned out 😁 I just really hope everything stays on track and I don't end up with some weird sagging issue, though it doesn't look totally swollen anymore, so hopefully we're in the clear
eheheh, I can still feel a little bit of that sensation right at the base of my nose 😁 and honestly, I scrolled through this whole forum before my surgery, and Tončić had by far the most praise and way fewer complaints than anyone else, so he’s the one who operated on me 😁 also, about you saying you can see a hump after the procedure—that shouldn't be happening because the hump is supposed to be completely gone, at least that's my take, since even after my own surgery, my nose was swollen but totally straight as a board 😁 sorry if I spooked you, just giving you my two cents
I didn't have any excess skin, everything felt tight, and I actually got a bit freaked out that it wouldn't look right while they were all over me saying "this looks amazing" and stuff. I was sitting there with two doctors and three nurses telling me how great it looked, like, what more do I need? don't send me back under the knife lol. I stayed patient and it definitely paid off 😁 now, a month and a week later, it looks awesome, and I've still got another month of tip swelling to go through 😁

sorry for the wall of text, I guess I just combined a bunch of replies into one 😁
not sure, man, my advice is just go for it—i’m honestly stoked with how everything turned out, i sent you some pics in your inbox
I honestly don't get how everyone who gets surgery at local public hospitals ends up having such a nightmare experience, while nobody seems to deal with any pain if they go private. Like, speaking from my own experience, I didn't feel a thing during or after the procedure, and there was barely any blood loss either. Even when they were removing the tampon, it was practically zero blood, just a tiny bit for maybe two minutes. It's actually kind of ridiculous :S
I didn't have any bruising at all 😁 once I got the mold off, I just had this slightly yellowish tint right by my nose, nothing crazy though—it cleared up in like a week max 😁 heheh
steelangler88 said:God, I really hope not, because if I start getting that itch, I’m probably gonna jump off my desk, and honestly, that wouldn't be a great look. thank you very much

you won't be able to😁 tie me to a chair, haha😁 at least for me
wanderingcrane21 said:Honestly, that's exactly what I'm wondering about too.
My nephew even accidentally bumped into me—the poor kid felt so bad because he’d already messed up big time with someone else—but honestly, it was nothing, just a tiny little nudge.
I’m honestly just sitting here wondering when they’re finally gonna get these internal wires out of me so I can actually wash myself like a normal person for once. 🤣

Haha, wanderingcrane21, looks like we’re basically living the same life. My cousin actually laid into me when I was three—it wasn't exactly a heavyweight bout or anything, but man, I could actually hear my bones clicking. It freaked me out big time at the moment, but honestly, everything seems fine so far.

I've got some before and after shots if anyone actually wants to see them—I can shoot them over to you privately, though I’m honestly curious to know what you guys think too :P. If anyone else is interested, just hit me up; I'm not really feeling like posting them all here for everyone to stare at.
steelangler88 said:oh man, it's been over 5 months for me now, and honestly, things still feel totally numb. And it keeps dropping too.😢(((

you've actually got me a little freaked out now😢 hopefully it’s not like that for everyone!
steelangler88 said:Look, man, I’d love to help you out, but I honestly have no clue what you're even asking me.😁
If I understood you right regarding that spot between your eyes... mine swelled up like crazy, but mostly sideways. It went outward, but not by much, so that "dip" you're talking about (I'm assuming you mean the profile shape, right?) stayed pretty much the same for me; my profile didn't really "puff out" that much. It'll settle down soon, probably in a day or two. And as for this "krugic" thing, I couldn't figure out what you meant, sorry.🙂 I don't have a photo of myself all swollen up, anyway. Besides, everyone reacts differently, so don't sweat it, it won't last long.

heheh yeah, I was talking about my profile :d mine swelled up too, though maybe not quite as insane as yours :d and when I said "krugic," I meant the tip of my nose—it feels kind of hard and woody since it's swollen, so I'm not sure if it's going to shrink back down or if it'll just drop? 😁
