Can anyone help me out? I have a deviated septum, and I’m really looking to get it fixed privately rather than dealing with the hospital system. But here's the thing—I'm only 17. Is being a minor going to be a massive hurdle for this kind of surgery? It's making breathing such a struggle, not to mention the hit to my self-confidence. 🙂
I was thinking about seeing Dr. Glusac or maybe someone over at the Mayo Clinic? Does anyone have a rough idea of what the total cost might look like?

It'll run you about $2,400 all in... and honestly, if you've got that kind of cash on hand, just go see Dr. Glusac. He'll take you in right away and have those problems sorted out before you know it.

Roughly how much does a rhinoplasty cost these days? I just want to slim my nose down a bit and refine the tip, so I don't think they'll need to break any bone. Also, based on your experiences, who are the best surgeons out there right now? And how long will it take before everything settles down and the swelling finally goes away? Is the pain intense? Thanks so much.

It looks like Grgic (in that last post) is a solid choice... though my main concern is really the price tag.

Hi there... so, I actually went in for a consultation with Dr. Glumičić. They gave me a really warm welcome. The doctor sat me down and managed to explain everything I was curious about in just 15 minutes. It gave me a sense of confidence, and honestly, I think he’s the one for me.

The total comes to about $2,400 including everything, plus $80 for the overnight stay, which covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The price might be a bit higher for me because my nose is quite large and I have a slight deviated septum; that's why it started leaning, and it makes breathing difficult—I end up snoring all night long.
And I have a feeling those accommodations are some pretty high-end suites...🙂

I've scheduled it for four months from now because I can't swing it any sooner. I'll check back in during the fifth month to let you all know how it went... wiiiii!

we’re essentially in the same boat; I’m also looking into nose surgery—specifically functional and aesthetic work since mine is crooked from an old injury. After wading through all these threads, I’ve come to the realization that private surgeons aren't necessarily any better at rhinoplasty than the ones working in public hospitals.
And if I may be so bold, we really ought to start a new thread dedicated solely to people sharing their results—whether they're thrilled or disappointed—one full year after their procedure, because that's when you actually see the final outcome. Most of these discussions don't provide the concrete facts we actually need.
😕

There’s truth to that. You can find incredibly talented doctors in the public hospital systems, but you can also find some terrible ones, so you really have to be careful about who you choose.
Rachel Martinez94 said:Thanks. 🙂 So, we're looking at roughly $16,000 in total. 🙂

How exactly does one go about getting two Oreo Plus cookies? $200 = $5333? 🤷

I really screwed up... sorry... It was actually 16,000... my mistake. Turns out it's just 15 cookies.🙂 Without private interests getting involved...
Hey there... I hate to be a bother, but I really need to get this right before making a move...

I’d truly appreciate it if anyone seeing this could shoot me a DM with some before-and-after photos. Also, please hit me with any advice or little details you wish someone had told you before you went through the whole experience yourself!

Thanks a million!
Don't sweat it... there won't be any bickering... or much debating at all...🙂
When I grow up, I’m going to be a television set... hah!

I'm with both of them on this one... functionality is fine and all, but I actually care about aesthetics... basically, just make it smaller. I’ll tell him myself that I don't care if he carves out a microscopic nose; even if he shrinks it by half, it'll finally look halfway decent...🙂

That way, the difference would actually be noticeable—assuming my buddy gives me a quick fix with a hammer and a screwdriver...

Do you see where I'm coming from now?

There is absolutely no way I won't be dissatisfied after surgery, unless something, heaven forbid, completely different happens altogether!!
And if you wouldn't mind, could someone give me the lowdown on the Mayo Clinic?

What’s the actual difference between all these surgeons... I mean, who should I even be looking at for a rhinoplasty? Thanks a million!!
hiddenseal14 said:think long and hard about whether you really want someone who isn't even a local specialist performing surgery on your nose.

The nose serves a vital function; it’s not just about aesthetics. Because of that, I wouldn't even agree to let that actor touch my nose, even if it were free.

As for the tampons, I only had them in for one day, just like rustygardener172. I had my septum corrected two years ago, and everything has been perfect—I can breathe flawlessly.🙏

🤦

Are you actually aware that this is a real surgical procedure involving general anesthesia, which carries significant risks??? And that there are absolutely no guarantees?

Getting nose surgery isn't like going out to buy a new pair of shoes, for heaven's sake. It's terrifying.

Have you never heard of using a metaphor? Besides, where exactly did you go for your surgery...

In that case, can anyone recommend a place where I should actually go?

And yet, you claim you wouldn't let that actor operate on you for free, while some guy is out there doing nose jobs with tweezers... Blanka and dino rađati... hello? Let's slow down a second...🙂

If he isn't good enough for an average person like me, then who is?
Rachel Martinez94 said:13,200 surgeries, 150 consultations, and about 600 various tests. (At least, that's what one of her previous posts mentioned)

Well, damn... at that rate, I’ll actually be making money...🙂 and might even have some left over... wiiiiiiiiii

If I had to go see anyone else, I'd be absolutely livid.

But with those Hollywood types? I feel like I'll just be popping down to the corner bodega for a loaf of bread.

That's all there is to it.😉
Rachel Martinez94 said:lancyl wasn't it you who had a consultation with Dr. Miller?

Dr. Miller was actually less convinced about his own ability to teach me than I was during our consultation. It’s clearly just his way of playing it safe—building up a buffer against potential failure. Ultimately, the ball is in our court to decide what we actually want. Personally, I've made my choice: I don't just want a "nice nose," I want a small, perfectly shaped one. 🙂

Does anyone happen to know the office hours for the actor?
And is it possible to book a consultation via email?

Nick.. that's a great question, though your answer is even better...🙂 Dealing with those two specifically helped me reach the exact conclusion I was looking for...

I’m just going to pay the actor and then I can finally sleep peacefully both before and after the surgery without stressing out... So what if he's difficult? The man is simply the BEST!

I’ve honestly never heard a single complaint about him... whereas I have definitely heard them regarding others.

Does anyone know the exact price for the actor's services?
stormycyclist9 said:Hehe, well, I definitely felt a bit of that stiffness right at the base of my nose too. 😁 I actually scoured the entire forum before my surgery, and Tončić had the highest praise and the fewest complaints, so he was the one I went to. 😁 As for you mentioning a bump appearing after the procedure—in my opinion, that shouldn't happen because the hump should be completely gone by then. My nose was swollen, sure, but it was as smooth as a sheet of glass. 😁 Sorry if I sounded a bit intense; that’s just my take on it.
I didn't have any excess skin issues; everything felt tight. Honestly, I was a little nervous that things wouldn't look quite right since everyone there kept saying how "perfect" it was, while I felt more like I just needed tightening. There were two doctors and three nurses all telling me it looked great. What more could I want? Don't send me back under the knife! Haha. I was patient, and it paid off. 😁 Now, about a month and a week later, it looks fantastic, and I still have another month of tip swelling to deal with. 😁

Sorry for the wall of text; I ended up combining several replies into one. 😁

I've also decided to pull the trigger on this surgery, and your response really helped ease my mind because I'm leaning toward Tončić as well. How can I be certain he's the right choice without wasting money on endless consultations elsewhere? Every other doctor seems to charge a fortune just to look at you, but based on his biography, his surgical history, his approach, and what others say, he seems top-tier. Plus, his pricing is reasonable and he even offers a discount for cash. Sounds perfect to me. Hahaha. Anyway, I'm not stressing too much about whether to do it or not—I know once I show up for that first appointment, he'll probably feel bad for me and squeeze me in ahead of schedule. Hahahaha! I've got the money ready, too; I earned it myself, so if my family decides to disown me, at least I'll know I was right. 🙂
