GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post)

Guys, what's the consensus on this AMD Radeon HD 5450 with 1GB DDR3? I guess maybe it might be an upgrade over my current VTX RADEON 512MB DDR3.

What brand is that power supply? I guess you should be careful that it isn't some cheap junk that might fry all your components once you plug it into a hungry new GPU.

I guess a 400W power supply might actually be enough for your setup, provided it’s high quality. Maybe.
I guess you might be able to get some sort of profit from it. Maybe. $33.

Before you even think about upgrading that GPU, I'd suggest swapping out your power supply first.
fadedorca66 said:Forget about the 6450 or the GT 240; those are bottom-tier cards. A 9600 GSO is decent enough—I actually own one myself—but I’d probably aim for something more powerful.
Jonathan Sanchez2 said:Hey guys,
So, I need a new GPU because my current one is pretty underwhelming, at least for me. I'm looking for something used—cheap but decent (who doesn't want that?). I found a few $100 that seem okay, I think. Right now, I'm running an NVIDIA GeForce GT series 512MB card and a terrible monitor (not even LCD, but it gets the job done). I play on a 22-inch LCD TV. I'm a big gamer, really into it. Currently, I'm just grinding Call of Duty 4 since I run my own servers here in the US, but whatever. I want to play Call of Duty 4 in full 1920 x 1080 on that monitor. Is there anything better than my current card that I could find used in a $83 since my budget is tight?
Other specs:
Intel Core i5 processor
4GB RAM
Gigabyte motherboard; I need to check the specific model on my iPhone🙂 so I'll post some links tomorrow for the ones I'm eyeing. I'd appreciate some help deciding.
Thanks in advance!🙂
