Can I bring my medication on a plane? in Health ·
I've heard people talk about painkillers, but that’s not quite what this medication is. I have an official diagnosis and a permanent prescription... but here's the thing, I recently moved my doctor and my residency over to Canada since I'm working there now. Maybe they have a better handle on how to process these medical certifications? I actually sat down with my local GP just a few days ago to ask about getting a certificate in English, and honestly, she had absolutely no clue what needed to be done or where to refer me. Just great... 🙂

I'm heading over to see my "new" doctor in two weeks, so I'll figure it out then. I also asked if we should try coordinating through Singapore instead of the UAE... 😉

It doesn't really matter which airline you're flying with—it's about your route. Are you just passing through, or are you actually entering the United Arab Emirates? It makes a difference...

So, this is basically a list of banned narcotics, medications, and stuff like that? Okay. Having a prescription shouldn't be an issue; I'll just swing by my doctor's office and get everything sorted out...

Thanks. You seriously just saved my lungs. 😁

Anyway, just pack them wherever makes sense—carry-on or checked bag... And honestly, it’s not a bad idea to bring a copy of your prescription too, just in case you need to pick up refills once you actually get to Australia...

Thanks for the advice... The thing is, my company is handling all the travel arrangements and paying for everything, so I'm not entirely sure which airline I'll be flying with yet.

Does anyone know where I can check the official list of permitted medications?

Thanks for the advice... the thing is, my company is covering the travel and all that, so I'm honestly not even sure which carrier I'll be flying with yet.

Does anyone know where I can double-check which medications are actually okay to bring on board?

Hey everyone, hi there. I’m not entirely sure if I’ve picked the right sub here, so my apologies if I have.

Here’s the situation: I’ve got a trip coming up in a few weeks to Australia—specifically Tasmania—and I’m feeling a bit stuck regarding my medication. I deal with asthma and rely heavily on my Advair Diskus 250; honestly, I can't function without it. I haven't pinned down my exact return date yet, but I'll be gone for at least three months... so I really need to figure out how much extra I should pack to be safe.
